Congratulations to Fariha Shafi, MD, on being selected by the American College of Physicians (ACP) as the Incoming Governor of the Missouri Chapter. Dr. Shafi describes this as “a dream come true and one of the most meaningful honors of my career.”

The ACP is the largest medical specialty organization in the United States, representing internal medicine physicians and sub-specialists. The organization is committed to improving patient care, advancing medical education, and supporting physicians throughout their careers.

“ACP has shaped my professional identity since early in my training. I still remember being inspired at my first meeting and hoping that someday I would be able to follow in the footsteps of the amazing leaders who have mentored, guided, and supported me in my professional journey,” Dr. Shafi adds.

“This opportunity reflects the values I care about most—service, leadership, and supporting the people who care for patients every day. I am deeply grateful, and I look forward to working with our incredible Missouri internal medicine community.”

As we head into a season of sniffles 🤧, sneezes and scratchy throats, pharmacists are reminding you that reaching for unused in your medicine cabinet is a bad idea.
Antibiotics are effective against bacteria, not viruses like the flu or common cold. Taking antibiotics when you don’t need them can lead to bacteria that becomes resistant to treatment.

Thank you to the generous donors that make this possible 💙🤱💛
