February is when you should start thinking about the upcoming summer, especially for trips where the right hotel, activities, and routing really matter.

Europe rewards early planning. In Norway, small expedition ships slip quietly through fjords to quiet inlets larger vessels can’t reach, continuing north toward Svalbard, where the light and landscape feel almost otherworldly.

Italy shines differently, with private villas in Tuscany or Umbria for a multi-generational stay that doesn't require a packed itinerary. Just beautiful towns, easy drives, and long afternoons that unfold naturally.
