As a Doula, Your Happiness with your birth experience is my motivation. I am a Retired RN (graduated in 1986) with extensive experience as a Labor and Delivery/ Nursery /Postpartum nurse. I have been a Certified Childbirth Educator and Lamaze Instructor since 1991. I have trained to provide proven relaxation and breathing techniques during labor: massage and deep counterpressure to help with back pain. Attention focusing techniques to distract from contractions are essential by providing a focal point or eye contact. Movement and many labor position changes help with dilation and effacement. Help for birthing mom and partner through suggestions, reminders, encouragement, and patience—immediate response to needs and undivided attention. During the “Golden Hour,” the hour immediately after birth, I will be by your side to help you and your birth partner bond with your new beautiful new baby with skin-to-skin contact and early breastfeeding.
