: Different parts of the cochlea respond to different pitches of sound. 👂

The 20,000 nerve cells of a cochlea are arranged like a piano keyboard. Lower pitches stimulate the nerve cells towards one end (the apex) of your cochlea while higher pitches stimulate the nerve cells towards the other end (the base).

With MED-EL's full-length electrode arrays, recipients are able to access a wide range of deeper sounds including soothing ocean waves🌊 and thunder rumbling⛈️.

Did you know? Some medications can damage your hearing.

Hearing loss or ear ringing (tinnitus) may be a side effect of ototoxic drugs. Common culprits include NSAIDs like aspirin and certain blood pressure medications.

Some effects are temporary, but others may be permanent—so it’s important to pay attention.

👉 Always report new hearing changes to your doctor, especially if you’ve recently started a new medication.

Always exciting to see manufacturers come together for the good of the patient :) Starkey hearing aids and MED EL cochlear implants can now work together!

MED-EL and Starkey Hearing have joined forces to introduce DualSync, offering bimodal users an elevated streaming experience.

With a MED-EL audio processor on one ear and a Starkey hearing aid on the other, users can enjoy seamless audio connectivity and synchronized sound directly
from their iPhones.

Starting on July 1, an update will be available on users' AudioKey 3 app that will set up the hearing devices to work together as one, so Apple products can easily stream to both at the same time.
