A COUPLE OF FACTS ABOUT YOUR SKIN..

Did you know that dry skin can increase your risk for infection from bacteria, viruses 🦠, and fungi. So keep your “barrier” moisturized daily with a lotion that contains hyaluronic acid, glycerin,or ceramides. Apply your moisturizer 1-2 minutes after you shower.

Your epidermis( the outer thin layer) sheds every 28 days. To help this process, you can exfoliate once a week with a gentle soap and loofah.

Just like your mind, your skin can respond to stress around you. When you are stressed or emotional, this can cause inflammation in the skin. To help with this try to eliminate your stress through exercise.

I hope these facts help you keep your skin glowing..

Food and your skin...

Here are 3 foods that I LOVE to eat that are good for your skin.

One is AVOCADOS, they contain “good” fats along with Vitamins E and C. These vitamins are important because they are antioxidants and protect the skin from absorbing to much UV rays from the ☀️.

My next skin glowing food are NUTS(walnuts)and SEEDS. This is my number two because they contain certain nutrients that are good for your skin , and you don’t have to eat much to get theses nutrients. The nutrients that they contain are zinc, vitamins E , selenium,protein, and fat.

My final food is BROCCOLI! Yes BROCCOLI 🥦. It is an excellent source of vitamins, minerals, and carotenoid. Broccoli contains another secret nutrient, sulforaphane, this nutrient may help to protect the skin from sunburn an may help prevent skin cancer.

In other words, what you eat can affect your skin health. Make sure you eat a rainbow of fruits and vegetables to get enough essential nutrients for your body.

Melanin is a board term for a group of natural pigments. Your melanin is produce through a multistage chemical process called melanogenesis.
There are 3 types of melanin. The types are EUMELANIN(skin -black/brown), PHEOMELANIN(gives your hair it’s color), and NEUROMELANIN(found in the brain).
Vitamin A, E and C are good for your skin, these vitamins are a great source of antioxidants and could possibly boost melanin levels. Eating citrus,berries, and leafy greens vegetables can also help boost your melanin.
