✨ Three months is such a tender season for feeding and so many moms suddenly feel like their babies are losing weight or like their supply is dropping. If you are in that place right now, breathe. You are not doing anything wrong 🤍

Here is what actually happens around three months:

🌱 Your milk supply evens out
The early weeks are all about fullness and engorgement. By three months your body becomes very smart and efficient so you feel softer, lighter, and less “full.” This is normal and healthy. Softer breasts do not mean less milk.

👀 Your baby becomes way more alert
Three month babies want to look at everything. Feeding becomes snacky or distracted. They pop on and off, eat faster, or seem less interested. That does not mean supply is low, it means the world is suddenly very exciting.

🔢 They get better at feeding
Babies become stronger and more coordinated. They can remove milk quickly, so feeds feel short. Shorter feeds do not equal low supply.

📉 The scale sometimes tricks you
Daily or weekly weight checks at home can be unreliable. The only true way to measure growth is with consistent weights on the same scale at the pediatrician or at a lactation visit.

💤 Sleep patterns shift
Longer stretches of sleep can make your body feel different too. Again, totally normal adjustments.

Three months is a developmental leap for both you and your baby. Most of the time, nothing is “wrong”… your baby is growing and your body is regulating beautifully.
You are doing an amazing job and your body is still providing exactly what your baby needs 🤍✨

If you want reassurance, a weighted feed, or support through this stage, I am always here for you.

When your breasts feel rock hard, heavy, and achy; that’s engorgement talking! 😣

The good news? It’s temporary, and with the right care, you can feel relief quickly.

✨ Try these tips:

💧 Hand express before feeding to help soften breasts
❄️ Cool compresses afterward to calm swelling
🤱 Start with the softer breast to get milk flowing
🫶 Gentle touch only, no deep tissue massage
🩵 If it lasts longer than 48 hours or you have fever, chills, body aches, or redness, reach out for help

Your body is adjusting beautifully, and it truly does get easier. 💕

Why do breastfeeding babies get so sleepy at the breast? 😴💤

Because YOU are their home. 💛

Your heartbeat.
Your scent.
Your warmth.
Your voice.
Everything about you feels safe and familiar, like being wrapped in a cozy hug.

So it’s no surprise that baby starts to drift off mid-feed. But while those sleepy snuggles are sweet, we do want baby to stay actively feeding, especially in the early days when milk removal is key to building your supply.

In this reel, watch how mom gently stimulates her baby to keep them awake at the breast by rubbing, talking, tickling, and switching sides when needed.

✨ Tip: If baby starts flutter sucking or falling asleep too early, try a gentle chicken wing move or a little foot tickle to wake them up.

Feeding is like an exercise workout! 😉
