The Natural History Institute announces "Real Ground" - an opportunity to share stories, insights, observations, and creativity: https://naturalhistoryinstitute.org/real-ground/

Greetings, Friends of NHI,

The Natural History Institute was founded with a firm belief in the importance of our inherent human capacity for attentiveness to the world we live in – and in its power to change ourselves, and our world. We’re very excited to announce the launch of our new Real Ground Initiative: https://naturalhistoryinstitute.org/real-ground/

As I described in an earlier letter, this is an offering of hope, community, and connection in these trying times—an opportunity for our extended community to share stories, insights, observations, and creativity.

This project provides a mechanism for us to feel closer to one another, and to our world. Our first four contributions are from Ecuador, Australia, Washington, DC, and right up the road in Chino Valley, Arizona. We are a global community.

Consider submitting something yourself: https://naturalhistoryinstitute.org/real-ground-submissions/
You can also subscribe to our Real Ground Journal (on the Real Ground pages on our website) and you’ll be notified of new contributions.

I hope you’ll become part of this project, share it with your networks, and be energized by it.

Thank you to everyone who was able to attend this year’s Reciprocal Healing: Nature, Health, and Wild Vitality -- a national confluence of insight from the realms of natural history, medicine, and psychology, and to all our supporters along the way.

Four days and three nights filled to the brim with inspiration, hope, connection, and encouragement. We gathered beneath the azure sky, in the presence of the red rock of Sedona, Arizona, on the western margin of the Mogollon Highlands, one of the most biologically diverse ecoregions in North America—at the juncture of a continental-scale biogeographic crossroads.

This region has been a mixing zone of cultures for thousands of years. A perfect place to have brought ideas together with intention and to clarify a vision and practices for reciprocal healing.

The meld of powerhouse plenary speakers, innovative and enriching workshops, small breakout sessions, time to mingle with one another during meals, breaks throughout to intimately explore the landscape, fire circle with impromptu musical accompaniment, it was an absolute joy to deepen our understanding of reciprocal healing alongside all of you!

We hope you all are transitioning back with ease, and look forward to future Confluences alongside the many thought leaders, innovators, activists, scholars and open hearts that joined us for our first National Confluence! Stay tuned!
