Moms Without Capes Discover Practical Solutions for Reclaiming your Sense of Self Beyond Motherhood: www.themwcpodcast.com
(1)

I am a licensed therapist, a life and wellness coach, and a mom of 6 who knows first hand how busy motherhood can be! I put myself last for years and it left me feeling depressed, burned out, and like I was failing as a mom. Using my own experience, education, and expertise, I now coach other moms who are struggling with Super-Mom Syndrome to learn how to put themselves on their own to-do list and fall in love with the woman underneath!

So many moms look strong on the outside while secretly carrying emotional exhaustion on the inside. If that sounds familiar, please go listen to this week’s episode.

I’m talking with Pamela Good, whose memoir He Never Let Go shares her journey from deep childhood wounds… to perfectionism… to finally finding rest in God’s love.

We talked about:
✨ the signs you’re slipping back into survival mode
✨ how to release the pressure to be “the strong one”
✨ why inner child healing matters
✨ what it actually looks like to surrender instead of hustle
✨ and how faith can restore the parts of you that feel broken

Her story is honest, vulnerable, and incredibly hope-filled.

If you need a reminder that you’re not alone and that you don’t have to carry everything by yourself - give this episode a listen.

Ever feel like you're just surviving your days instead of actually living them?

Like you're constantly holding it all together… but inside you're exhausted, stretched thin, and running on fumes?

This week on the Moms Without Capes Podcast, I sat down with Pamela Good, author of He Never Let Go, and her story is one of the most powerful reminders that healing is absolutely possible, no matter where you’re starting from.

Pamela grew up in chaos, spent decades striving through perfectionism, and eventually hit her breaking point. But in the moment she felt the most lost, God met her right on her bedroom floor.

In this episode, she shares how she moved from decades of survival mode into a life of peace, healing, and real freedom.

If you’re tired, overwhelmed, or wondering if you’ll ever feel like you again… this conversation is for you.

Ever look in the mirror and think, “Who even am I anymore?”

You used to have dreams, hobbies, space to breathe. Now it feels like your identity has been replaced by a never-ending list of tasks, diaper changes, school drop-offs, and everyone else’s needs but your own.

Motherhood is beautiful, yes - but it can also swallow you whole if you’re not careful.

If you’re feeling lost in the role of “mom,” please know this: you’re not broken. You’re just buried. Beneath the overwhelm, the guilt, the to-do lists… you’re still in there.

You deserve to feel like a whole person, not just a caretaker. It’s okay to want more. To crave joy, rest, connection, and purpose beyond the next meal or laundry load.

It’s not selfish. It’s necessary.

💭 Tell me - what’s one thing you used to love doing before kids that you haven’t done in a long time?

Let’s start there. You’re allowed to want you back.

Have you ever noticed that your body seems to “act up” during stressful seasons?

Maybe your shoulders tighten after an argument… your stomach flips before a big event… or your back starts aching when life feels heavy.

That’s not random.
That’s your body talking.

When emotions go unprocessed—fear, guilt, grief, resentment—they don’t just disappear. They get stored in the body. Over time, that emotional tension can manifest as real physical symptoms like headaches, fatigue, digestive issues, or chronic pain.

It’s called the mind-body connection, and research confirms what many of us have felt all along: our emotional health and physical health are deeply intertwined.

When we don’t allow ourselves to feel and express what’s going on internally, the body often takes over as the messenger.

So the next time your body sends you a signal—tightness, fatigue, pain—pause and ask yourself:
👉 “What might I be holding onto right now?”

Your body isn’t betraying you. It’s trying to get your attention.

✨ To learn more about how emotions create physical symptoms (and to hear the wild story of how I got instant pain relief right after giving my TEDx talk!), tune into this week’s episode of the Moms Without Capes Podcast:

Have you ever had your body speak for you?

The morning of my TEDx talk, I woke up with searing shoulder pain that no amount of stretching, oils, or deep breathing could touch. But here’s the wild part—
the moment I stepped off the stage, the pain vanished.

That day, I realized something powerful:
our bodies hold what our hearts haven’t processed.

In this week’s episode of the Moms Without Capes Podcast, I’m sharing that story and unpacking how stress, trauma, and emotional overload can turn into real physical symptoms—like headaches, fatigue, or chronic pain.

You’ll learn:
✨ Why your body responds to emotional stress with physical pain
✨ What science says about the mind-body connection
✨ How to start listening to your body and releasing what it’s holding

If you’ve ever said, “I just don’t feel right,” but couldn’t put your finger on why—this one’s for you.

Taking care of your mental health as a mom doesn’t have to be overwhelming.

In fact, small, consistent shifts can make a big difference. Here are a few ways to protect your peace and show up for yourself, not just your people:

🌿 Start your day with intention
Even five quiet minutes to breathe, pray, stretch, or journal before the chaos begins can help you feel centered.

🚫 Say no (without guilt)
Every “no” to something draining is a “yes” to your wellbeing. Practice protecting your time and energy.

🧠 Challenge the negative self-talk
Would you speak to a friend the way you speak to yourself? Notice your inner voice and give it a gentler tone.

📲 Take a scroll break
Limit social media when you’re feeling anxious or depleted. It’s okay to disconnect to reconnect with yourself.

🫶 Ask for help
You don’t have to carry it all alone. Talk to your partner. Delegate. And yes - therapy counts, too.

🛏️ Rest is productive
Your brain and body need breaks. It’s not lazy. It’s necessary.

You’re allowed to take care of your mental health, not just survive the days. In fact, your family benefits more when you do.

Which one of these do you want to work on this week?
