Welcome to the Nuwave Botanicals page! We are so glad you’re here. We are an online supplier of Mitragyna speciosa, also known as kratom. So, what exactly is kratom? Perhaps you’ve googled it, only to find lots of confusing and conflicting information. But the truth is, the Mitragyna speciosa or kratom tree is native to southeast Asia where the natives have used it for centuries in the same way Americans use coffee.

According to the American Kratom Association’s Fact Sheet on Kratom:

Nearly 5 million Americans safely use kratom as a part of their health and well-being regimen and have done so for decades. Kratom is regulated by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) as a dietary ingredient/supplement, and people who use kratom do so for the same reasons as people who use dietary ingredients, supplements, and who drink coffee, tea, or other caffeinated beverages. Surveys show that kratom consumers are educated, middle-income, employed, and have health insurance – they are largely the soccer moms and dads of America.

Kratom has been used traditionally to combat fatigue and increase work productivity amongst farm populations in Southeast Asia. Kratom leaves are chewed or made into an extract and brewed as a tea. (Hassan et al. 2013; Warner, Kaufman, & Grundmann 2016)
