We are the largest family history library between Denver, CO. and Salt Lake City, UT. Located at 700 E. Main, Suite 103, Montrose, CO. We are open all year Tue., Wed., and Thur. afternoons from 1:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. Or by appointment. Open to all the public. Not affiliated with any church. You are invited to join our society. Membership dues are $25. per year which includes our quarterly of the Uncompahgre Valley Chronicle plus mail fee of $10 per year if mailing is needed.

It is with heavy heart that I announce that Fore-Kin Trails Genealogical Society has formally closed after over 40 years of existence. The board members are getting older, and we had a difficult time trying to find people to serve on the board in our places. All of the Society's resources have been transferred to the Montrose County Historical Society. If you have any questions about using the resources for research, or if you'd like to support the historical society, please contact them at 970-249-2085, or email at info@montrosehistory.org. The website will be active for the time being as we determine if we have any digital files to transfer to the historical museum, but that will also close eventually. Thank you for your support throughout the years, it is much appreciated.

We are in the process of moving our archives and research materials into a storage facility, so at this time we are not able to respond to research requests. Hopefully, by May we can begin to answer e-mail requests and questions. Meanwhile there is much data available on our website. Thank you for your continued support.

Greetings all

We are starting to wind down our center for many reasons. We have disconnected our phone, and are only reachable via email, which is montrosegenealogy@gmail.com. We have also closed the center on Wednesdays and Thursdays, and are available by appointment only.

We are looking for a new space where we can reopen the center, or where we can store our research material. If anyone had any leads, please let us know.

Read It! is back and, once again, we're kicking off with a rousing night of trivia. This year, we will have some 90s themed categories. Open to adults 18+.

So, gather your friends, brush up on your random facts, and join us for a night of nostalgia and trivia at Bluecorn Cafe & Mercantile. The first 25 to check-in will receive a free drink token. Drinks and light refreshments will also be available for purchase.
