At Henry Ford Jackson Hospital, we believe a fun and creative workplace helps our teams connect, collaborate, and bring their best ideas forward — even when it comes to pumpkin decorating!
We loved seeing everyone’s creativity on display in the main lobby during our annual Pumpkin Decorating Contest. Thanks to every team who joined in the fun and made our hospital a little brighter this season!

The first game of senior year was supposed to be one of celebration and promise for Logan Decker. Instead, it became a moment of shock.
On his very first defensive play, Logan was tackled hard. As players piled on, his elbow popped out of place. Heading to the emergency department that night, Logan feared the worst - his high school football season, and possibly his future college opportunities, were over.
As college offers were starting to come in, the uncertainty was crushing. But those fears were quickly put to rest when Logan met with Dr. Stephen Spadafore from Henry Ford Sports Medicine – Jackson.

Our emergency medicine physician Dr. Alan Lazzara has an important reminder as hunting season begins in Michigan: Hunters are 2 to 3 times more likely to be injured by a fall from a tree stand than from a firearm. Most often occurring as the hunter is climbing up or down from the tree stand, these falls can cause serious leg fractures and spinal cord injuries. Long-term disability, including paralysis is possible.
Get more safe hunting tips from Dr. Lazzara:
As hunting season in Michigan gets underway, hospital ERs anticipate an increase in hunting-related visits, especially resulting from tree-stand falls. Here are tips to stay safe.
