Public Comment Now Open on Oregon’s 5 Needle Protocol (5NP) Rules

On October 2, the Oregon Medical Board (OMB) reviewed the draft rules to implement HB 2143 (2025) and voted to file a notice of proposed rulemaking with the Oregon Secretary of State.

The public comment period is now open, and the OMB is seeking input before finalizing the rules.

A huge thank-you to Open Gate Acupuncture for letting us use their clinic store our sharps bins after the OAA Annual Conference!

Because of their generosity, attendees were able to safely dispose of sharps at the conference, and Gresham Sanitary could easily handle the pickup at Open Gate.
