CLASS is excited to partner with the Pittsburg Area Chamber of Commerce for a new initiative called “Chamber Champions”.

What is a Chamber Champion?

Individuals served by CLASS will volunteer to help the chamber with various events and projects. For example, our Chamber Champions Shirley and Richard greeted attendees at the Chamber Coffee at Mercy Hospital Pittsburg this morning.

You will be seeing more of our Chamber Champions at other Pittsburg Chamber events throughout the year. We are extremely proud to partner with the Pittsburg Chamber on this initiative and truly appreciate their support.

What does inclusion look like?

Inclusion can look different in various situations but doesn’t have to be complicated. At CLASS, inclusion means creating opportunities for individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities to live, work, and thrive alongside their neighbors. Because our community is stronger when everyone is included.

Thank you to nick-squared for inviting our Pittsburg crew on stage to rock out at Kicks Bar and Grill on Route 66 last weekend 🤘

Several proposed changes will be impacting the IDD service system in Kansas in the near future. These changes will affect the individuals served, their families, as well as CDDOs, and service providers like CLASS.

InterHab, our statewide advocacy partner, will be hosting virtual information sessions each month highlighting the proposed changes. The next information session is today (Wednesday, February 11, 2026) from 4 pm to 5 pm. Individuals, families and others are welcome to attend.

Here's looking at you, kid! 🐐💕

The crew at our Cherokee County Service Center in Columbus had the BEST time visiting Big R’s Goat Farm and meeting the newest (and cutest) members of the herd this afternoon. Everyone enjoyed getting up close and learning about how the goats are cared for.

Community outings like this create opportunities for connection, new experiences, and wonderful memories - and this one was definitely a favorite!
