Doris Iarovici, MD, author of Mental Health Issues and the University Student, recommends Academic Coaching and other support services to help students with mental health issues/disabilities in college. I offered this service at a local college and found that students who attended five or more sessions were able to pass their classes and got off either academic probation or financial aid suspension. Do you have a teenager(young adult) going to college in the fall and needs assistance with executive functioning skills? I am an academic coach who works with college students by teaching them executive functioning skills to succeed in school. In my first year of professional experiences at a local college, the students who attended more than five sessions succeeded in passing their classes and increasing their G.P.A.s to continue receiving financial aid and being off academic probation.
