The way you bring up problems in your relationship matters just as much as what the problems actually are. ⬇️

Most people don't realize they're being critical. They think they're just being honest.

But there's a big difference between saying something needs to change and making someone feel like they're fundamentally broken.

Feedback focuses on solving a problem together. Criticism focuses on proving someone is the problem. One opens conversation. The other shuts it down before it even starts.

The difference between these approaches is the difference between resolution and resentment.
