Seeing the Future of Neurosurgery: Innovation & Education at the Skull Base
🔬 We were proud to support the McMaster MIS Skull Base Course — a premier hands-on training event dedicated to advancing neurosurgical and ENT education. Since 2007, this course has provided senior residents with rare, high-impact experience in endoscopic skull base techniques through close mentorship, cadaveric dissection, and inter-specialty collaboration.
✨ This year, Advanced Endoscopy Devices, Inc. was honored to contribute to this mission by showcasing our EndoPro® 3D Visualization System — a transformative tool for minimally invasive skull base surgery.
🔍 What EndoPro 3D Brought to the Course:
· Real-time 3D stereoscopic visualization, giving residents and surgeons enhanced depth perception critical for navigating complex skull base anatomy
· Seamless integration with existing 2D scopes and cameras — making it easy to adopt without changing entire workflows
· Enhanced precision for delicate tasks like tumor dissection, nerve preservation, and endoscopic repair
· A powerful educational tool that helps residents better understand spatial relationships and anatomical planes
🎯 With structures like the optic nerve, carotid artery, and cranial base all within millimeters of each other, depth perception matters. Our system made a measurable difference in how participants saw and approached their work.
🙌 A huge thank you to:
· Dr. Kesh Reddy, co-chair of the course and champion of surgical education, for the invitation
· Dr. Amin Kassam, global pioneer in endoscopic skull base surgery, for his hands-on involvement and inspiration
· The outstanding local faculty: Dr. Almunder Algird, Dr. Justin Khetani, and Dr. Sarah Khalife
· Our sponsors and partners, including The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, for supporting this non-profit, high-impact initiative
👥 And of course, our incredible team — Paul Laborie, Mike Merrick, Donald Mackerous, and Shane Manor — whose dedication and expertise were instrumental in the successful launch and live demonstration of EndoPro 3D at the event.
We're proud to play a role in training the next generation of skull base surgeons and advancing surgical visualization where it matters most.
