Earlier this week, I had the privilege of visiting Representative Bob Onder’s office alongside the Alzheimer's Association Greater Missouri Chapter and Rachel Lesinski. We spoke with Krista Montgomery to advocate for the ASAP Act (Alzheimer's Screening and Prevention, Act H.R.6130 / S.3267) which be it enacted, would amend title XVIII of the Social Security Act to provide for Medicare coverage of blood-based dementia screening tests.

Our goal is clear: ensuring that early detection of Alzheimer’s is accessible. In these 15 years of serving families, I’ve seen firsthand why this matters. I’m grateful to help our state's representatives better understand the families impacted by amplifying their voices.

I love being that voice, but what fills my bucket is helping families who are navigating a new Alzheimer's or dementia diagnosis. If you have questions, whether in St. Louis or beyond, feel free to reach out!

Last night the Alzheimer's Association had the opportunity to recognize the Champions from the St. Louis and St. Charles 2025 Walk to End Alzheimer's. Champions each raised $500+ and together made up more than half of the total funds raised across both local walks last season. 👏

Champions heard Dr. Christopher Weber, Director of Global Science Initiatives with the Alzheimer's Association, share the real impacts of our collective fundraising. Every dollar raised is helping move research forward, improve early diagnosis, and expand treatment options that slow disease progression. What's even more inspiring is how so much of that progress is happening right here at Washington University in St. Louis.

Thank you to the co-hosts and board members, Allen Serfas and Matt Mikula, for bringing this group of Champions together and creating a space to connect and reflect on what being a Walk Champion truly means.

To every Champion, Thank you for showing our community what’s possible when we come together with a shared purpose to ! 💜
