On Saturday night, our Team joined Memory Care Home Solutions for their Annual Memories & Melodies Gala and Auction at The Chase Park Plaza and we were proud to support this beautiful evening as a Harbor of Hope Sponsor. ✨

From heartfelt stories from Catherine Tracy about her husband Tom and their family's experience with Memory Care Home Solutions, to Jill Cigliana, Executive Director of Memory Care Home Solutions sharing the latest in their organization's incredible community impact, the evening celebrated the power of family, resilience, and accessible dementia care solutions. 👏

We are proud to promote and support an organization that transforms compassion into meaningful action for families navigating dementia. Thank you to Memory Care Home Solutions for the life-changing support you provide families and for bringing our community together to ensure a future where no family faces dementia alone. 🫶

Today our Team attended the SSM Health Physical Therapy Fall Workers’ Compensation Seminar where experts from across Missouri came together to discuss the latest updates in Workers' Compensation, best practices, and strategies for improving outcomes.

Assistance Home Care was proud to sponsor and be a resource for the attending Physical Therapists, Case Managers, Physicians, Claims Adjusters, Workers' Compensation Coordinators and many other Professionals in attendance. Home care can support one's recovery at home, help reduce rehospitalizations, assist with ADLs and IADLs, reinforce therapy goals, ease transitions from hospital to home, provide respite and promote safety and independence during short term and long term recovery from injury or accident.

We value opportunities to collaborate with the professionals who work so hard to help individuals heal, recover and return to their daily lives with confidence. If you or someone you support is navigating an injury recovery and could benefit from in home care, our Team is here for you! Connect with us to learn more today!

Our Team spent the past few days visiting 21 of our clients who are Veterans and delivering special gift bags that included a military themed calendar, a personal note of appreciation from our Team & many other goodies to enjoy! The gratitude we felt in return was so heartwarming. One of our clients, Vernon, lit up when he saw on the calendar that March, his birthday month, featured a tank and he proudly shared that he served as a tanker during his time in the military. Moments like these remind us how meaningful even small gestures can be.

A heartfelt thank you to Amanda, our Director of CarePlus and VA Program, for making this Veterans Day special and for her continued dedication to supporting our Clients who are approved by the VA for Home Care services and ensuring they receive both the care and the recognition they deserve. The Veterans Day bags also featured a framed poem written by Amanda’s daughter, Mia titled, "My Pledge to Veterans". This heartfelt touch was deeply appreciated by those we visited and made each moment of connection feel even more special.

Today, and every day, we honor those who have served our country and protected the freedoms we each enjoy. If you’re reading this, we encourage you to take a moment to recognize the Veterans in your own life... share gratitude, ask about their experiences, and offer a listening ear. You never know what you might learn!

Yesterday’s ‘All About Dementia’ education event at the St. Louis County Library - Clark Family Branch offered an incredible deep dive into Dementia with Lewy Bodies and Parkinson Disease Dementia, presented by Abdulmunaim M. Eid, MD Neurologist at Washington University and Alexis Walker, Senior Clinical Research Coordinator at Washington University Department of Neurology to help individuals, care partners and families better understand how these diseases differ and identify distinctions in testing and treating these two types of dementia.

The full-house event left us with several key takeaways:
✅ Early detection matters. Dr. Eid emphasized the value of cognitive screenings, understanding early symptoms, and recognizing changes in thinking, mobility, mood, and sleep.
✅ Lewy Body and Parkinson-related dementias share overlap, but have distinct diagnostic features that influence care planning and progression.
✅ Biomarkers and evolving research are helping families get answers sooner and navigate care with more clarity.
✅ Most importantly: Planning ahead and knowing your wishes for care and treatment is essential.

This event was coordinated by both the Alzheimer’s Association Greater Missouri Chapter and the APDA Missouri Chapter, who continue to bring high-quality, accessible education to our Greater St. Louis community with partners like Washington University.

Staying connected and educated is one of the best ways to support yourself, loved ones, and those navigating these diagnoses. 💜💙💚
