Sheri-Byrne Haber

She has 41,000+ followers on LinkedIn.
At accessibility events, people line up to take photos with her.

And we get why.

But what we love most?

She’s our teammate.
Approachable. Highly professional. A true accessibility nerd.
A great mom.
And someone who shows up, every single day, to push this space forward.

Behind all the recognition is years of real work.
The kind that shapes how people think about disability, inclusion, and accessibility.

Nominating her for the D-30 Disability Impact List…
That’s just a small way to say thank you for everything she’s given to this community.
(And yes… we love her this much.)

If you’ve worked with Sheri or learned from her articles, you already know the impact she’s made.

Nominate her as one of the top 30 disability leaders: https://bit.ly/d30noms2026

Help us celebrate the work she’s been doing for years.

Thank you, Joe Roan, for a truly valuable session with the AO team!

We really appreciate you sharing your expertise on public speaking and communication... especially the mindset behind becoming a confident, clear, and impactful speaker.

Your insights on the Toastmasters International advantage gave our team a new perspective on how to grow, practice, and show up with confidence.

We’re excited to apply what we learned, and we’re definitely looking forward to more sessions like this.

How do blind job seekers get hired in 2026 for a home based job?

You need specialized trainings. You need to be an expert screen reader user or use your assistive technology extremely well if you want to work from home.

You can’t just be good.
You’ve got to be amazing.
You need to know your tech like the back of your hand.
You’ve got to be able to troubleshoot, problem solve on your own and increase the speed by which you operate.

That’s what you’ve got to do to get hired from home today.
You’ve got to earn it. And you’ve got to be ready.

Our next Ask Me Anything event will focus on how you can get your counselor to approve the training you need to take it to the next level.

We’re going to teach you some tricks, some rules. We’re going to teach you how to navigate vocational rehabilitation, your counselor, and the approval process.

Because if you ain’t got the skill, you won’t get the job.

Register below. We’re not recording or replaying this event. It’ll be too spicy.

The deadline moved… but the pressure didn’t.

The Title II ADA digital accessibility deadline extension is now official: April 24, 2027 for agencies serving over 50,000 residents, and 2028 for smaller ones.

Websites. PDFs. Digital services.
They’re still required to be accessible today.

The extension isn’t a reset. It’s a window.

Because if nothing changes now, nothing changes next year...
except the risk.

Let’s be real for a second...

If you’re blind, working with VR, and aiming for remote work… where are you at right now?

Because a lot of people are saying the same thing:

“I want to work from home.”

And that’s valid.

But here’s the problem…

Remote jobs in 2026 aren’t basic.

They require strong screen reader skills, speed and efficiency and the ability to navigate digital tools independently.

You can’t just be good. You’ve got to be job ready.

Knowing you need training isn’t the problem... getting it approved and connected to a real job is.

Do you want to learn how to speak VR and use the rules to your favor?
We’ll share insider strategies to help you navigate VR, your counselor, and get your training approved.

Join us for another juicy conversation at our bi-monthly Ask Me Anything event.

Wait, what? We have new Digital Accessibility Testers?

Our team is definitely growing!

Meet the beautiful and super prompt, Nastassja Green.

She recently graduated from our CAT program and is now an accessibility apprentice, applying her certification in real-world projects.

Working alongside professional testers, project managers, and government clients, Nastassja, helps identify accessibility issues and improve digital experiences for real users.

What we love most is her shift in perspective.

From simply navigating websites…
to understanding how they’re built, and whether they actually work for people using assistive technology.

That’s what the Certified AccessAbility Testing (CAT) Program is about. Our 18-week, fully remote, instructor-led training. The only technical training and certification program for digital accessibility testing that guarantees employment!

You get trained. You get certified. You get a job!

What does the Title II extension actually mean for 2026?

Definitely not protection.
An extension doesn’t shield you from complaints.

For cities and counties under 50,000, this isn’t the time for plans or intentions.
It’s the time to show real progress.

Because it only takes one person.

Someone visits your site, tries to apply for a job… and runs into a barrier they can’t get past.

Are you confident your site would pass… today?

Ellie Alvarado is our CAT Graduate Highlight for the week.

Ellie wears many hats; she's mom of four, also one of the hosts of our upcoming WCATea Podcast, on top of being a Certified Accessibility Tester and a CAT Program instructor.

Ellie:

"No more trying to sell hair vitamins to your cousin, forcing Aunt Linda’s jam on unsuspecting friends, or begging neighbors for rides to a job that barely pays.

If you’re like me… looking for something that doesn’t involve dumping useless products on your social circle until they all hate you, listen up, because I’ve been right there with you.

I finally found a path to real, flexible work, and it’s called the Certified AccessAbility Testing (CAT) Program.

You’ll learn how to break websites in a good way (i.e., test them for accessibility issues), fix them, and become the hero companies need so everyone can actually access and use their content."

Ellie went through the CAT Program via Vocational Rehabilitation.
We hear a lot of people asking about it.
