The Yoga Lounge is your oasis of calm, nestled in the charming beach town of New Smyrna Beach.

Come into our tranquil space, sip some tea with friends and try a class that meets you where you are. From gentle and beginner to vigorous vinyasa, our offerings are designed to give you a well-rounded yoga practice with delicious movement, stretch, strengthening, deep relaxation and meditation. Our teachers are passionate about yoga and experienced in guiding yoga classes in a safe, nurturing and inspiring way.

MEET THE TEACHER
Gia Gallagher ✨

After years of running and aerobics, physical limitations led Gia to begin practicing yoga as a gentler way to stay in shape. She started in 2001 in her living room with a yoga DVD, and she quickly developed a daily home practice. Six years later she took her first class, and was instantly mesmerized by the magic and energy of the chanted “Om”.

Gia found that practicing yoga with others brought a spiritual dimension to her practice. She became interested in yoga philosophy, meditation and Ayurveda, which enhanced all aspects of her yoga experience as well as many other aspects of her life.

She discovered a strong desire to share her love of yoga with others.

Gia completed her 200 Hour RYT Training in Hatha Yoga at Om Joyful with Joy Kochmer in September 2012. Her teaching style is firmly grounded in the classical 8-limb path and Patanjanli’s Yoga Sutras.

She continues to strengthen her own practice through regular vinyasa and hatha classes. Her intent is to remain teachable, in turn imparting her
knowledge and experiences to her students, while encouraging them to find their own path.

Gia teaches Hips and Spine at 12:15 on Tuesdays and Deep Stretch at 12:15 on Thursdays.

Last Sunday we enjoyed a beautiful afternoon of Chai and Chant. In this video we are chanting Om Mani Padme Hung, a Buddhist mantra of compassion.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the generous vegetarian potluck.

Your presence and your voices were powerful expressions of peace, love, and community.

We hope you’ll join us for our next gathering on Sunday, May 17th from 3:30 to 5:30 pm for Ecstatic Chant and Cacao with Gershone and Gina from Atlanta. Zetta and Gia will also be joining, making it another beautiful afternoon of music and devotion.

This Sunday at 3:30pm!

Join us for a soulful afternoon of Kirtan led by Zetta Rose and Gia, with special guest Kelly on harmonium. Through devotional call and response chanting, we’ll gather in a peaceful, joy filled space where music, voice, and vibration come together in community.

Sing, hum, listen, or simply rest in the energy of collective sound.

Traditional and original chants to uplift the heart and calm the mind.

Fresh brewed chai will be served, and we’ll share a casual vegetarian potluck. Bring a simple vegetarian or vegan dish if you’d like. Completely optional and enjoyed family style.

Comfortable seating is available, or bring a cushion for extra support.

Suggested contribution 20 dollars.

All are welcome. No experience needed. If finances are tight, please reach out.

Pre registration is encouraged so we can prepare your space, your chai, and our shared table.

4 Week Series

Build confidence. Learn the foundations. Move with ease.

Yoga Basics is a welcoming 4 week hatha yoga series for beginners and for those wanting to return to the foundations of their practice. This small group series offers clear guidance on breathwork, foundational postures, relaxation, meditation, and common yoga terminology so you can feel confident stepping into any yoga class.

Classes move at a steady, mindful pace with an emphasis on safe alignment, body awareness, and conscious breathing. Ample props and variations are offered in an inclusive, supportive environment.
