When Teddy moved into our Killarney home this year, he and another resident, Cindy, discovered something incredible…

They’re siblings who spent a lifetime apart.

Now, at 83 and 74, they get to live together and build the connection they missed for so many years.

From Santa and Mrs. Claus to our elves, crafts, photos, and treats… it was such a special day for the families who joined us ❤️🎅

Some of our VERY brave sasi staff took the Polar Plunge at Woodlawn Beach to support Special Olympics New York!

The plunge is an effort to help ensure Special Olympics athletes across the state can participate in trainings, activities, and competitions at no cost to them or their caregivers.

Because of your generosity, sasi’s programs raised over $3,600 from more than 60 gifts this Giving Tuesday, one of our largest totals in years! Your support fuels the creative opportunities, everyday moments, and meaningful relationships that make our community so special.

Happy International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPD) 💙💚

Today we join the United Nations in recognizing IDPD, a day that celebrates inclusion, dignity, and the rights of people with disabilities around the world.

At sasi, this day reflects the heart of our work. Every day, we see the strengths, talents, and joy of nearly 2,000 people we support across Western New York.

This year’s theme, “Fostering disability-inclusive societies for advancing social progress,” is exactly what our DSPs, staff, families, and programs help build every single day.
