World Doula Week
Spotlight: Ashley Skiffer-Thompson, MBA
Full Spectrum Doula | Safe and Sacred Pregnancy Peer Support Program Faculty and Ambassador, a collaboration between iDREAM and Maternal Mental Health NOW.
“My passion and commitment to my community has given me the honor to become a Black birth worker/Doula. I highly value uplifting, highlighting and centering the needs of Black birthing people, babies and families.
By providing support and encouraging self and medical advocacy, I hope my families feel empowered, grounded and valued throughout their journey. As the African proverb states, ‘Oran a azu nwa’ meaning it takes a village to raise a child and I am truly grateful to be apart of the village.”
