Have you ever found yourself saying "I'm sorry" for things that weren't your fault? This is often rooted in feelings of shame and guilt.

In his latest article, Julian Pijuan, a local therapist and board member of NAMI Central Oregon, reflects on his own experiences and discusses how early life events can contribute to hyper-responsibility and an excessive need to apologize in adulthood.

By exploring the origins of guilt and shame, we can develop the awareness needed to break free from these patterns and achieve a sense of liberation.

🌾 Central Oregon's farmers, ranchers and ag workers are the backbone of our communities, working hard to keep us all fed. However, many face mental health challenges due to isolation, long hours, financial stress, and unpredictable weather. Often, they’re told to “toughen up” instead of being encouraged to seek help.

💚 We're grateful for Jefferson County Community Organizer Vickie Johnson, who has gathered FREE mental health resources specifically for our agricultural community. These programs are staffed by professionals trained to understand the unique stressors faced in farming and ranching.

NAMI Central Oregon's In Person Family Support Group meets this Wednesday from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at Embark Coworking Community, 2843 NW Lolo Dr., Bend, OR 97703.

We hope to see you there!

This In Person Family Support Group meets on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month.

In these groups, which meet weekly or monthly, family members can talk frankly about their challenges and help one another through their learned wisdom.

NAMI’s Support Groups are unique because they follow a structured model to ensure you and others in the group have an opportunity to be heard and to get what you need.

Compassion fatigue can sneak up on those who give so much.

In this clip from our new "Be Kind to Your Mind" podcast, we share practical self-care: get some exercise, step outside for a mindful walk and carve out moments to integrate what you’ve been through as a caretaker or in the helping profession.
