Before anything else, we want to recognize the people who make Physio Room what it is.. our team. The coaches, clinicians, and front desk crew who show up with energy, compassion, and a genuine belief that movement can change lives. We’re incredibly grateful for the way they care, listen, problem-solve, and support every person who walks through our doors.

This season always brings us back to why we do what we do
 helping people feel strong, capable, and connected to the things that make life meaningful.

We’re grateful for every person who chooses to trust us with their health. The ones rebuilding confidence, the ones chasing long-term strength, the ones lifting, running, parenting, working hard, and simply wanting to feel good in their body again. Thank you for letting us be part of your journey.

Jack Butler, PTA and strength coach at PR in Colorado Springs, was asked to teach a cohort of PTA students about incorporating barbell lifts into physical therapy treatment.

Jack, also a CrossFit coach at CrossFit Falcoln View, uses these lifts daily with clients to help increase strength and return them to sport.

He believes using barbells is accessible to most people and age or experience with lifting shouldn’t prevent them from training with these tools. 😌. (We agree!)

Most people walk into PT wanting the “quick fix”.. cupping, dry needling, adjustments.. and yes, those resets feel amazing.

But they’re just that: resets. Short-term relief.

At Physio Room, we will do the reset but we will also take it a step further.

We want you to understand why you’re hurting, what patterns are driving it, and how to actually fix it for the long run.

Once we get the right muscles firing again, the real magic happens:
you get stronger.

And strength is what keeps you feeling good, moving well, and doing whatever you love without the constant setbacks.

Short-term relief is great.
Long-term results are better.

If you’re pregnant right now or thinking about having another baby someday.. this is for you..

The aches, the pressure, the lingering pain from your last pregnancy, the fear of pushing again, the uncertainty around postpartum.. all of it. You don’t have to white-knuckle your way through any of that.

When you work with a pelvic floor PT during pregnancy, it’s not about being perfect or doing everything “right.” It’s about giving your body the support it deserves during a season where everything is changing. It’s learning how to move without pain. It’s understanding what’s happening in your own body. It’s building strength so you can keep showing up for the things you love whether that’s lifting, running, or simply getting through the day with a little more ease.

And then there’s postpartum..

No one prepares you for how different it feels the second time around when you actually have support. When you’re not starting recovery from zero. When your body already has a foundation of strength and awareness instead of a pile of unanswered questions.

Watching Kathryn move through her sessions is such a good reminder that investing in yourself during pregnancy isn’t selfish, it’s smart. It sets you up for a better delivery and a smoother postpartum, and most importantly, it gives you back a sense of confidence in your own body.

So if you’re pregnant, thinking about becoming pregnant, or still feeling “off” months or years postpartum
 you’re not alone, and you don’t have to guess your way through it. Pelvic floor PT can make such a difference. More than most of us realize until we experience it.

You deserve to feel strong in this season. And supported. And prepared. And yes

👋 Meet our newest Colorado Springs PT, Dr Karissa Deptula!

Karissa has a passion for helping athletes and active individuals recover from injury, optimize performance, and prevent future setbacks. Combining her background as a Physical Therapist Assistant with a fitness-forward mindset, she delivers a personalized, movement-driven approach to care.

After earning her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Hanover College and her Bachelor’s degree from Miami University, Karissa pursued advanced training in sports rehabilitation, manual therapy, dry needling, and movement analysis. She has extensive experience helping active people of all levels return to what they love—stronger, more resilient, and ready to perform at their best.

A Dayton, Ohio native, Karissa enjoys spending her free time outdoors and in the kitchen. She stays active through CrossFit and weightlifting, which give her firsthand insight into the demands of athletic performance. On weekends, she can often be found hiking with her Keeshond, Ruby, or experimenting with new recipes. Of the many national parks she’s explored, the Grand Tetons remain her favorite.

A client came into the clinic recently asking about getting a second opinion for surgery, and the team took the conversation in a direction most people don’t consider:

“Have you explored every conservative option before going under the knife?”

Because once surgery happens, there’s no returning to the pre-surgery version of the body. Revisions can happen, additional procedures can happen, but the original structure is changed forever. And that’s why the decision deserves careful, thorough evaluation.

Many times, surgery doesn’t address the root cause of the problem. Symptoms can come from multiple sources, and imaging doesn’t always tell the full story.

When the true driver of pain isn’t identified, surgery alone may not resolve the issue leaving the person dealing with the same symptoms later on.

Slow down. Get multiple opinions. Make sure every conservative avenue has been explored before choosing surgery.

It can be the right choice, but it’s not always the first or easiest answer.

Physio Room can be that final stop before making the decision.

The team provides honest, transparent assessments. If surgery is truly necessary, we’ll refer to trusted surgeons we work with. If it isn’t, we’ll outline the steps that can help someone move forward, reduce pain, and regain confidence without a procedure.
