Morning! I hope everyone is well. I’m assuming many of you at this point have read Lena Dunham’s memoir “false labor”. Many of us are disgusted by it as well. Tomorrow I’ll be hosting a discussion on Instagram and maybe you’d like to join in! It’ll be on my IG page
I’d you had any reactions or thoughts about it, and would like me to share anonymously please feel free to do leave in comments, or dm me!
For those who haven't read it, here is a link to the piece:

I have spoken to quite a few people who are feeling upset, frustrated, anxious with how the COVID-19 pandemic is impacting those trying to conceive and those who are currently pregnant. There will be two separate support groups being held virtually this week. If you are feeling in need of a little extra support, you can find the link and sign up at the page below.

Thank you!

Happy Friday! Phew, it has been a pretty intense week, hasn’t it? With all this COVID-19, or Corona Virus and changes to our daily lives that some of us could have never imagined, it can feel heavy. If anyone needs to talk or vent, I’m always here.
During the course of the week, I’ve learned that and events I had planned to attend have been either rescheduled or modified to be held in virtual manners (tough decisions for both I’m sure, but I will still@be just as involved as before, and there is still time for you to be as well!). When I plan to travel, I don’t take clients two weeks before or after my travel dates so I can do my best to be present when my clients go into labor. Due to my schedule, I didn’t take clients in April or May. Now that that has changed, I have openings and I’d love to work with you or your friends! And because we could all use some good news, I’m offering 10% off to new clients! Thanks for your support always, and take good care of yourself!! Xx-Desirae

Pregnancy After Infertility and Loss. I never would have guessed that going through something so incredibly difficult and isolating would bring me close to so many people.

What to Expect Now that You're Expecting: Pregnancy After Infertility and or Loss Virtual WorkshopVirtual Workshop

Pregnancy after infertility and or loss; it can be one of the most exciting times, one of the scariest times, or a combination of both. And that’s ok!

Hello! I think a new year is a great time for an introduction; it’s been a while and I see some new faces. I’m Desirae Whittle. I’m proud to call myself a mother, and step-mom, a small business owner and a birth doula. I’m also working towards becoming a certified lactation educator. I’m part of an amazing doula collaborative . I’m also going to be speaking about PAIL at the upcoming summit in Chicago this April!
But these are roles I play, they aren’t who I am. It took me a while to figure that out. So when I really dove deep after asking myself who I really am, a few themes came up. I am curious. I am kind. I am an empath. Im a proud Latina. I’m a true crime ju**ie. I’m straight-forward. I’m funny (or at least I think I am). Most of all, I’m passionate. ⠀
From that passion, and my personal struggle with infertility and loss, as well as postpartum anxiety, Harmony Births has really grown into what and where it is today. And it’s evolving every day! I feel very strongly that we need to support families on their path and through their journey into parenthood emotionally, informationally and physically. I am very open about my struggle to conceive my daughter Ingrid, and the emotional distress it caused. Most of my pregnancy was blanketed with fear, anxiety, and guilt. That anxiety poured over into the postpartum period. I know from my clients, friends, and my own experience that these feelings and needs are not uncommon in the PAIL (pregnancy after infertility and or loss) community. I have made it my mission to support this community as well as anyone becoming parents HOWEVER that looks. Adoption, donor egg/ s***m / embryo, same s*x, surrogacy, IVF, spontaneously, etc. We all need love and support. We need information, and empowerment. If you’ve got time, I could talk your ear off about this. Instead I’ll post about such things here. I’m happy you're here and would love to learn about you, so please introduce (or reintroduce) yourself below!! Photo credit .

While your heart doesn’t grow 3 sizes like the grinch’s, your heart actually does grow during pregnancy. It grows about 12 percent! ⠀
Wild huh? This is due to the increased blood flow, volume and hormones!⠀
Maybe we all have a little grinch in us after all 😉⠀

I wanted to wish everyone a very happy holiday week! Please enjoy time with the people you love and try to focus on what you have and what you mean to others. I promise, each and every one of you have made someone’s heart grow... most likely more than one! You’re so loved. ⠀

I’ll be taking a little break this week not to get and give presents, but to really be present! I’ll be back soon! And of course if you need me (yes my clients due 🤩) you know how to reach me! 😍 ⠀

YOU ARE ENOUGH!

Motherhood is one of the greatest joys in life, but it also is one of the most challenging experiences one can possibly face. From the sweet moments of laughter and reading together to the difficult moments like tantrums, Mom and Dad are there for all of it... and sometimes, it can be really easy to...
