This time of year, we are grateful for the opportunity to sit in our beautiful chapel for moments of quiet reflection. This space is used by our residents for worship, rosary, and more. As the holidays approach, we’re full of joy and thanksgiving for the Altenheim community.

: These cold, grey days have us appreciating the creativity of our Activities Director, Michelle! She’s always full of fun ideas for engaging activities in all kinds of weather. Last winter, she even set up an indoor co****le game for residents!

that November is National Alzheimer’s Awareness Month? We are grateful for the caregivers, family and friends who give so much of themselves to care for loved ones with this disease.

Last year, we were honored to present the Alzheimer's Association with a check from our Bourbon & Beyond Fundraiser. The association leads the way to end Alzheimer’s and other dementia through research, early detection, and supporting exceptional quality of care.

Our Best Restaurant is the best of all! Last week, we enjoyed an outing to the family-owned, Southern-style farmhouse for some home cooking! Thanks for a delicious meal!

Goodbyes are always so hard! We cannot thank Michele Durrett enough for her nearly 7 years of commitment and service to The Altenheim. ❤️ Michele has made the hard decision to fully retire and she will be greatly missed!

But with every door that closes, a new one opens! Tomorrow, 11/19, we welcome Colleen Mena to The Altenheim’s beauty salon. Colleen joins us with 31 years of service. We are excited for her to become a part of the Altenheim family! 🙏

We took a moment last Tuesday to reflect on the incredible men and women who have given us the greatest gift of all: their courage and bravery to serve our country. At the Altenheim, we are honored to provide a comfortable home and supportive family for some of our community’s veterans: James, Robert, Bob, Paul, Tom, and Rogers.

Thank you for your service! We are forever grateful.
