Is shared on the Haven Yoga Indy page this morning that as of August 2021, Haven Yoga Studio is on indefinite hiatus. I closed our physical location and suspended our virtual offerings in order to prioritize my own wellbeing.
🛣 The Journey 🛣
When I first started Haven, I dreamt of creating a space that truly made an impact on the lives of others. For years—I honed my skills, practiced my craft, and committed myself to building this business from the ground up. Haven was a labor of love from the very beginning. This experience has expanded me in ways that I could never have imagined. This was the most difficult decision I've made in my life.
💜 Prioritizing my own wellbeing 💜
It's not a secret that that being a small business owner is damn hard work. Being a Black, Q***r, Woman who cares deeply in our collective wellbeing and liberation often made that mountain even harder to climb. I spent tireless days and nights working hard to craft Haven into the nurturing space that it has been for the community. When the COVID-19 pandemic started I continued to work with the added layer of terror and grief for our world.
This summer I was stopped in my tracks. My body, mind, and spirit were sounding the alarms that I was not only unwell, but at my breaking point. I fought it for a few weeks but I knew -deep down- that I couldn't give myself the resources and love that I needed to care for myself while still constantly pouring into Haven.

I've spent the past few months
resting, clearing, creating, and learning.
Sound healing, a tool that has been a lifeline for me in my personal healing journey, has revealed itself to be the next iteration of my healing justice work. I just started the Music Therapy degree program at IUPUI and have been having a blast being in an educational program that centers music and healing.

Thank you for all of the ways that you've loved and supported me and Haven. Through it all, what has held me the most is how much love and care y'all have for me. I will continue to reflect that magic back to you in every step I take.
