Are you planting onions in your garden this year? đąđ§
Now is a great time to get them started!
Onions are not only easy to grow, but they also offer some amazing health benefits.
Including onions in your diet may help support:
⢠Immune health (theyâre a great source of Vitamin C)
⢠Healthy nerves, muscles, and kidneys (thanks to potassium)
⢠Heart health and reduced inflammation (rich in antioxidants)
⢠Bone health
⢠Digestive health (they contain fiber and prebiotics that feed beneficial gut bacteria)
⢠Balanced blood sugar levels
Sometimes the simplest foods can have the biggest impact on our health.
Food truly is a powerful tool when it comes to supporting the body naturally.

Youâve probably heard the saying, âYou are what you eat.â
But a more accurate statement is:
âYou are what you digest.â
Eating healthy food is incredibly importantâbut if your body isnât properly digesting and absorbing those nutrients, you may not be getting the full benefit.
Poor digestion can impact many areas of health, including:
⢠Energy levels
⢠Immune function
⢠Hormone balance
⢠Overall wellness
Sometimes, even when youâre eating well, your body may need additional support to properly break down and utilize nutrients.
If youâre not feeling your best despite making healthy choices, digestion could be a key piece of the puzzle.
If you're located in Stayton or surrounding areas, or even need virtual support, feel free to reach out to learn more about how we can support your digestion naturally.

Over the years of working with clients, Iâve noticed something importantâŚ

Did you know seasonal allergies can develop at any age?
Many people think allergies only begin in childhoodâbut they can actually appear later in life as well.
Because allergies involve the immune system, theyâre often connected to other underlying imbalances in the body.
You may be more susceptible to seasonal allergies if you have:
⢠A weakened immune system
⢠Food sensitivities
⢠Chronic stress
⢠Digestive imbalances (gut health is closely tied to immunity)
⢠Asthma or structural factors
When the body is out of balance, it can become more reactive to common triggers like pollen.
The encouraging news is that by supporting the body and addressing root causes, many people see significant improvement in their symptoms.
Whether you are local or live outside the area, if you want to learn more about natural approaches to seasonal allergies, Iâd be happy to help.

Do seasonal allergies hit you every year?
Symptoms like sneezing, itchy eyes, congestion, and a runny nose are often blamed on pollenâand while pollen is a trigger, thereâs more to the story.
Seasonal allergies (hay fever) are actually the result of your bodyâs immune system overreacting.
When exposed to allergens, the body produces antibodies and releases histamine, which leads to those uncomfortable symptoms.
Common symptoms include:
⢠Sneezing
⢠Itchy or watery eyes
⢠Runny nose
⢠Sinus congestion
⢠Asthma symptoms
While these reactions are common, theyâre not something you simply have to live with.
Supporting your immune system can play a key role in how your body responds during allergy season.
If want to explore natural ways to support your body, improve your allergies and potentially ELIMINATE your allergies, feel free to reach out.

Do you feel tired all the time, even when you're getting enough sleep?
Your Adrenal Glands may be under more stress than you realize.
These small glands help regulate your stress response, energy levels, metabolism, and immune system.
When the body experiences constant stress, the adrenal glands can become overworked and may struggle to keep up.
Here are 3 signs your adrenals may need support:
⢠Fatigue that doesnât improve with rest
⢠Cravings for sugar or salty foods
⢠Feeling wired at night but exhausted in the morning
Many people experience these symptoms for years without understanding the underlying cause.
If this sounds familiar, your body may be asking for support.
Whether you are local to Stayton, surrounding areas or even out of the area, feel free to reach out if you'd like to learn more about natural ways to support adrenal health.

Hi! My name is Megan and I am the owner of Bend Your Nutrition, a virtual nutrition practice based in Sublimity Oregon, serving clients near and far! I am a former junk food ju**ie, turned health food foodie! I have always loved food! Cooking and baking are two of my favorite hobbies, but I fell into the nutrition world without even knowing it would become my passion in life. I am a Certified Functional and Holistic Nutritional Therapist targeting digestive issues along with food sensitivities to get to the root cause of chronic health issues. I guide my clients through this process by using a whole-body and mind approach, working towards optimal health and wellness. We always adjust diet and lifestyle and if indicated, I utilize lab tests and supplemental support to help bring the body back into balance.
I want my clients to learn how to reach optimal health through a variety of measures including diet and lifestyle, but also allow for appropriate flexibility in life. We are human and on occasion, we may want to indulge in a sweet treat for example. Having the knowledge about the kind of sweet treat weâre eating and the mindset of knowing itâs not an everyday habit; this is where strength and willpower are built. My personal rule is the 90/10 rule. This means that 90% of the time, I eat my very best, consuming whole, organic nutrient dense foods including lots of colorful veggies and fruit, grass fed meat, free-range chicken and eggs, wild caught fish, etc...On the flip side, 10% of the time, I will give myself a pass to eat at restaurants, go to BBQâs, birthday parties, happy hours, have coffee and a pastry with a friend, etc... I pick and choose when and what I want to âindulgeâ in because itâs not a daily habit. Knowing that itâs there 10% of the time is enough flexibility to keep me on track 90% of the time. When people working through their healing journey, they may have to be a little more strict in the beginning, but itâs only temporary until the body comes back into balance.
Through my training, I discovered that I had my own digestive issues. These issues were affecting my life and causing symptoms that I thought were ânormal.â Turns out, those symptoms were a direct result of my body and my immune system dealing with my diet and my digestive issues. This led to various symptoms like headaches, muscle aches, brain fog, stomach bloating, skin issues, fatigue, etc... I even developed multiple food and chemical sensitivities due to my digestive issues. Certain foods were actually harming me rather than helping me, even though they were totally healthy foods!!!
As a Functional and Holistic Nutritional Therapist, my goal is to create awareness about how food impacts our body, both positively and negatively. I want to create a safe place for people to feel comfortable talking about their digestive issues. We all eat food, our body processes it, and then we p**p it out. Itâs part of our function, and there should be no shame in discussing it, especially if we are struggling in this area of our health. We do NOT have to suffer from digestive issues. There are many ways to minimize or eliminate these symptoms, and thatâs what I want people to know. I am here to help, and I know firsthand how difficult it is to discuss these issues and to change habits (remember, I am a former junk food ju**ie!), but Iâm SO glad I did. I opened up a whole new world for myself and my health. Now itâs your turn to feel better! If this resonates with you and you would like learn more, I would love to chat with you!
