Hello tea friends, I'd like to take this time to update you on the business. While I did take somewhat of a step back for a bit, I am absolutely still here. Like many other small businesses, the economy changes that hit us in 2025, took a toll on my business as well. It became more costly for me to sell my products at vendor shows and stores. Additionally, my license fees had gone up considerably. I have always done my best to keep my products as affordable as possible, and though I know that I will have to reevaluate that, I wasn't ready to make price changes just yet.
Simultaneously, my 2025 began by leading me to the greatest dental office and best boss that I've ever worked for. I've always believed that everything happens for a reason, and so I accepted the opportunity to work full time again in my dental hygiene world. All along I have continued to sell my teas, products, and services, but I now sell my teas under the Cottage Food Law rather than the expensive Government food license and million dollar commercial business insurance, and kitchen rent that I paid for previously. It was a win win decision. You still get the same great teas, and it saved me a great deal. I have decided to cut back on the number of teas that I make, and soon I'll be following up with a post announcing a clearance price on the teas that I will no longer be carrying.
Lastly, there was another big change that came into my 2025. Last Fall I was blessed with a beautiful new home in a lovely, and peaceful neighborhood. I am still serving the Greater Lansing Area, but the house closing and the move also slowed business down of course. Today I am happy to announce that my new Reiki Room is now complete and I will be putting new photos up soon.
