Why is Traditional Medicare so important to us?
As our loved ones reach Medicare age, it’s important to understand the difference between Traditional Medicare and Medicare "Advantage" plans. While "Advantage" plans are often advertised as convenient, they are often very limiting — especially here in rural communities like Graham. Many local doctors and hospitals may not be included in their networks, and care often requires pre-approvals or referrals that can delay treatment.
Traditional Medicare gives you the freedom to see any doctor or hospital that accepts Medicare — without network restrictions or insurance company interference. You and your doctor decide what’s best for your health, not a private insurer.
"Advantage" plans do not allow such freedoms.
For most people, especially in smaller communities, Traditional Medicare provides the most choice, flexibility, and reliable access to care. For that reason, we continue to encourage our Graham community members to choose Traditional Medicare — because your health and peace of mind matter most.
