SoftSpot® is honored to be part of the largest U.S. research study to date investigating the impact of osteopathic manipulative treatment (OMT) on plagiocephaly, the OPT-IN trial. OMT is a gentle non-invasive treatment that can be used to address plagiocephaly as an alternative to helmets. The study, conducted by Dr. Kimberly Wolf in San Diego, CA, will enroll 122 infants over two years with a goal of 102 completing the full protocol, and we are proud to share that treatment is already 50% complete. SoftSpot® technology has helped the study team capture the difference a single OMT treatment can make on an infant’s head shape by taking pre- and post-treatment measurements just a few minutes apart!
