‘Tis the Season of Giving! 🎁 🦃
We kicked off the holiday season with our annual Turkey Drive in partnership with benefitting the children and families of El Hogar Del Nino Early Childhood Center. This year, we were able to provide turkeys to over 200 families, and it warms our hearts to help support our community in such a meaningful way.

As always, it’s a joy partnering with to bring this event to life. Nothing feels better than giving back and spreading a little extra holiday cheer to those who need it most! ❤️

We said goodbye to our CNA Carol last week as she began her well-earned retirement. Carol has been a dedicated member of the Alden family for many years and was truly loved by residents and staff. The residents on her unit didn’t want to let her go!

We recently said goodbye and congratulations to Diane Smiley, who officially retired after 35 incredible years with Alden! 🎉

Diane joined our team back in 1990 and has been a wonderfully positive presence ever since. Over the years, she’s worked in Dietary, Laundry, and Housekeeping, always bringing kindness, dedication, and a smile to residents and coworkers alike.

We celebrated her amazing career with a special retirement party filled with laughter, memories, and plenty of smiles—just like Diane! 💐

Thank you, Diane, for 35 years of hard work, heart, and commitment.

They recently attended the American Society for Health Care Risk Management - ASHRM 2025 Conference in Charlotte, NC.

The event brought together health care risk professionals from across the country for three days of expert-led training, knowledge sharing, and collaboration. We're proud to have Jesse and Richelle representing the Alden Network as they continue to grow and strengthen their skills in health care risk management.

Last week, we celebrated EVS Week and are continuing to honor Therapy Month! 💙

To show our appreciation, we handed out gift bags and held a special raffle for our amazing Environmental Services team, complete with gift cards as a small token of thanks.

HCCI congratulates the Illinois long-term care providers recognized as 2025 Bronze – Commitment to Quality Award recipients by the American Health Care Association and National Center for Assisted Living (AHCA/NCAL).

This award marks the first step in AHCA/NCAL’s rigorous three-level National Quality Award Program and honors providers that demonstrate a strong commitment to quality improvement, person-centered care, and organizational excellence.

Eight Alden representatives, including our President Randi Schlossberg-Schullo, attended the first-ever Women’s Luncheon hosted by the Democratic Party of Illinois.

Special guests included Illinois Lt. Governor Juliana Stratton and Wisconsin Lt. Governor Sara Rodriguez, who shared their inspiring journeys into public service and insights on women in leadership.

We were proud to strengthen connections with elected leaders, including Party Chair Lisa Hernandez, a long-time Alden Champion whose district includes two Alden communities.

Meaningful conversations around healthcare, leadership, and policy made this a powerful and productive event!

Alden Network leaders had a fantastic time attending the 9th Annual Forum on Post-Acute, Long-Term Care, and Assisted Living!

Our nurses and administrators enjoyed gaining valuable insights from incredible speakers like Bette Lawrence-Water, who spoke on civility in the workplace, and Lorena Amarillo, who shared important strategies around emergency preparedness. These sessions were not only informative — they were empowering.

In addition to earning CEUs, our team loved connecting with fellow professionals and exploring innovative solutions from the many vendors in attendance. Events like this help us grow, learn, and continue to deliver the highest standard of care across all Alden facilities.

The Alden Avengers were out in full force this past weekend at the 31st Annual Gibbons 5K Run & 3K Walk, proudly representing the Davidson-Brin Chapter of the Leukemia Research Foundation!

It was a beautiful day to come together, raise awareness, and support the fight against blood cancers. Thank you to everyone who walked, ran, donated, and cheered us on — your support means the world as we work toward a cure!

The Alden team had an incredible presence at this year’s 63rd Annual WHCA/WiCAL Spring Conference and Expo in Green Bay!

Not only did everyone look amazing in their Alden gear, but the camaraderie amongst everyone was spectacular. Our team got the chance to network with fellow long-term care professionals and attend educational sessions ranging in topics from Improving Post-Acute Transitional Care Management to Leadership Insights and Virtual Reality Dementia training. From a sizzling and soulful Hibachi dinner to going home with cash prizes, it’s safe to say the Alden team had an amazing time from start to finish!
