On October 7, 2025, the CIT Elder's Program hosted the annual Intertribal Elder's Luncheon at ilani. It was well attended, with 41 Tribes present and a total of 367 attendees. Program staff worked on planning the event, with the support of ilani staff, during the entirety of the year.
Quilts of Valor presented 16 quilts to Cowlitz Veterans, which was a great honor, and CIT Veteran's Rep, Teri Graves was able to participate in wrapping the Veterans in their quilts.

Thank you to all who attended, including those who volunteered their time, and the programs who donated raffle baskets. We look forward to seeing you all again next year!

For the month of October, HHS and Public Safety focused on Breast Cancer and Domestic Violence Awareness. With the help of Public Safety, each officer was provided a pink lettered uniform patch, education on AI/AN specific domestic violence statistics, a window decal representing HHS Pathways to Healing program- a significant resource for those facing domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, sex-trafficking and/or elder abuse, and a window cling for their vehicle: míɬta ƛʼa sɬə́wɬkɬ tit qi sx̣ašə́x - “abuse won’t be our legacy”
As we move forward with growing this new partnership with Public Safety, we are constantly reminded of the importance of raising awareness and putting intention behind everything we do.
