January session for Leadership Tuscaloosa was about economic development in Tuscaloosa City and County. Learning more about the behind the scenes process in building the economy was very enlighting. I always appreciate hearing from Mayor Maddox & enjoy his point of view on the challenges the City of Tuscaloosa faces! -Shelby

✨ Why We Use Dry Needling at Physiolete ✨
Dry needling is one of our go‑to techniques to help not only with pain but also with function and recovery!

Benefits:
🎯Releasing tight muscles + trigger points
🤸‍♂️Improving mobility + range of motion
🧠Reducing pain by calming the nervous system
🔄“Resetting” muscle activation
🏃‍♀️Improving movement patterns
💥Easing post‑workout soreness
⚡️Boosting results when paired with exercise + manual therapy

We target the specific muscles contributing to your pain or dysfunction. While dry needling can give quick relief, it works best when combined with corrective exercise for long‑lasting change 🙌

Want to try it? Book a session with Allie or another one of our certified needling providers! 📲

Seth and Halea, our PT Sports Residents, recently completed their third residency learning weekend! 💪
This round was all things hip and knee—discussion, hands-on practice, and deep dives all around.

Not pictured: our virtual Saturday call thanks to the ice storm ❄️
Huge thanks to our very own as well as Shelley and Brett for their wisdom, knowledge, and continued guidance—we’re grateful for you both!

Curious if a sports residency might be right for you?

Julia Bostic left a legacy at Physiolete that will live on as she takes on full time motherhood with her two beautiful daughters.

Julia organized our first Purpose Project in 2025, The Valentine’s Day NICU Basket Drive. We wanted to honor Julia’s family this year by naming the Purpose Project after her son, Trent Bostic.
With Love, Trent ❤️

“Postpartum is one of the most vulnerable times in a woman’s life, add to it the uncertainty of the neonatal unit and it is more than any person can bear on their own. As a former NICU Mom, I can testify to this, and it is why I am so honored to be able to help organize and partner with the community to serve those who are currently living in their most vulnerable days. Even though a tube of chapstick or a sudoku book from a stranger might seem like a small gift, the care it shows goes past the gift itself. It tells a mother that she is not alone, she is seen, and that God has not forgotten her, and during these fragile days it is the most valuable thing you can give a mother.”
-Julia Bostic

We will be collecting items listed on the Amazon Wish List and the Basket Drive Checklist (see post) from January 14th through February 11th. Once we get all of the items in we will organize, pray over, and deliver to DCH (Northport and Regional) WITH LOVE for Valentine’s Day.

You can mail items to 2508 7th Street Tuscaloosa, AL 35401 or drop them off at Physiolete’s 7th Street or Element Fitness location. We are so excited to serve these NICU families and it wouldn’t be possible without Julia’s compassion and your donations!

.reed16 completed his first marathon a couple of weekends before Christmas. We are so proud of him 🎉

Here are some of his post marathon thoughts:
✨What was your favorite part of race day?
Race Day was awesome! I loved seeing everybody who put in so much time and effort into being there that morning. It truly is the celebration of all the hard training. My favorite part was being able to finish and seeing all the people who were there to support me every step of the way. Their encouragement made a world of difference.

✨What was the most difficult stretch of the race?
The last 6 miles were the toughest both mentally and physically. I was warned beforehand that the last 6 miles is basically its own race, and that could not have been truer. The mid 20 temps and horrible windchill certainly did not help either.

✨In prepping for the marathon, what do you think was MOST helpful?
I received a lot of great advice and training tips/plans from people around me. That, along with a lot of support, helped me tremendously in my preparation. I could not have done all that training on my own without the guidance and support I received.

✨What advice would you give a first-time marathoner?
My best piece of advice to a first-time marathon runner is to simply commit. Don’t be afraid of committing to the seemingly daunting task. Trust the training, and put in the work on the front end, taking it day by day, mile by mile, and step by step. You will get discouraged if you’re constantly looking at the finish line. Be able to enjoy and commit yourself to the process, because it will take you farther than you ever thought you could go!
