November is Diabetes Awareness Month. This month is a time to raise awareness about diabetes, educate others, and encourage healthy lifestyle choices to prevent or manage diabetes. Throughout the month, we will be sharing different resources that help provide support and education! 💙

✅Check all candy before eating

✅Stay in groups and stay close to each other

🌟Get to know another one of our amazing New Haven providers! 🌟

Lauren specializes in helping patients manage chronic conditions such as high blood pressure, diabetes, respiratory disease, obesity, and thyroid disease. She also has a strong focus on preventative care, including screenings, vaccinations, and working with patients to set and achieve their health goals. She will also be available for sick visits for acute issues as well.

❤️Outside of work, Lauren enjoys spending time with her husband, two young children, and their dog. They love hiking, bike riding, and swimming in the pool on nice summer days!

🌟Get to know Dr. Iqbal - one of the friendly faces at our New Haven Medical Center!🌟

Dr. Iqbal completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Michigan–Flint and went on to attend medical school in the Caribbean. He later completed his residency training in Pontiac, gaining clinical experience at Pontiac General Hospital, McLaren Pontiac, and St. Joseph Mercy Oakland — plus pediatric training at Children’s Hospital of Michigan.

In addition to being one of our amazing primary care providers, Dr. Iqbal also serves as our Medical Director, helping lead our team with compassion and expertise. 💙

When he’s not seeing patients, you can find him enjoying his time gardening and caring for his plants, painting, or spending time with his three rescue pups — Hazel, Mocha, and Abby 🐾
