Louisiana Emergency Response Network LERN assists hospitals and emergency response teams by coordinating delivery of patients to the most

The Louisiana Emergency Response Network (LERN) is an agency of state government created by the Louisiana Legislature in 2004 charged with the responsibility of developing and maintaining a statewide system of care coordination for patients suddenly stricken by serious traumatic injury or time-sensitive illness (such as heart attack and stroke). It is a system also designated to serve as a vital h

ealthcare resource in the face of larger scale emergencies and natural disasters. Getting to the right place at the right time to receive the right care is a matter of life or death for these patients.

⭐️ Community Outreach Spotlight ⭐️ LERN was grateful for the opportunity to share life-saving skills and techniques with members of St. Teresa's Villa community in Slidell.

The primary focus was emphasizing the importance of calling 9-1-1 immediately when someone is experiencing a STEMI heart attack. Community members also learned to recognize the signs and symptoms of stroke and STEMI, practice Hands-Only CPR, understand how to use an AED, and receive an introduction to Stop the Bleed techniques.

Education like this helps strengthen communities and ensures more people are prepared to respond when every second counts. ❀️
