What started as one simple sweet potato waffle in my kitchen has somehow turned into more than 12 different flavors… and that still amazes me.

Those first waffles slowly grew into what I now call Grain & Grace.

Every flavor still begins the same way:
real ingredients, a little creativity in my kitchen, and the belief that food should feel good when you eat it.

Nothing complicated.
Nothing artificial.

Just simple ingredients you’d probably find in your own pantry.

Over time, these waffles have found their way into real homes —
busy mornings before school,
quick breakfasts before the gym,
and after-practice snacks for hungry kids.

I’ve been getting a lot of questions in my DMs about the waffles, so I thought it would be fun to answer some of them here.

Every question in this post came from a real customer.
And if you have one too…
I’m always happy to talk waffles.

February stretched me.

Old wounds came back.
Old patterns tried to pull me in.

But I didn’t numb out.
I didn’t hide.

I asked for help.
I leaned into my people.
I kept feeding myself instead of fighting myself.

That might be the strongest thing I’ve done in years.
I’m walking into March different.
Not perfect.
But steady.

If this month stretched you too — you’re not alone 🤍

Two minutes before this picture was taken, my daughter told me my hair looked beautiful.

She said I looked like a goddess.

So I asked her to take a picture.
I wanted to see what she was seeing.

When I looked at it, the first thing my eyes went to wasn’t my curls.

It was my butt.
How big it looked.
How wide it looked.

And without thinking, I said it out loud.
“Oh my goodness… look how big my butt is.”

She didn’t hesitate.

“Mom, you’re strong. You have a strong butt because you work out.”
She said strong like it was the best thing she could call me.

And she’s not wrong.
I lift.
I train.
I fuel my body so it can do hard things.

I eat enough.
I don’t skip meals.
I don’t punish myself with less.

That strength didn’t come from trying to be smaller.

It came from building something.

And I’m still unlearning the habit of wanting to be small.
I’m still learning to believe that strong is something to be proud of.

Maybe fueling your body isn’t about shrinking it.
Maybe it’s about supporting the life you’re actually living.

Early in my weight loss journey, I realized something.

I wasn’t actually eating many vegetables.

Sure, I had the “diet salad” at lunch.
Maybe a small side of broccoli at dinner.
But that was it.

And if I’m being honest?
Most of them tasted like punishment.

Boiled.
Soggy.
Flavorless.
My taste buds weren’t excited.
They were surviving.

And as someone who has struggled with emotional eating…
food has to feel good.
It has to taste good.
Or I’m not staying consistent.

So I started experimenting.

What if vegetables didn’t have to feel like a chore?
What if they tasted like zucchini bread?
Like carrot cake?
Like roasted beets with a little sweetness?

That’s when I started adding them into my waffle batter.
And let me tell you…
A warm waffle that tastes like zucchini bread fresh out of the oven
hits very differently than soggy brussels sprouts.

Here’s what I learned:
It’s not that I “don’t like vegetables.”
It’s that I don’t like vegetables prepared in a way that makes me miserable.

If healthy feels like punishment, you won’t stick with it.
But if it feels comforting, flavorful, and satisfying?
That’s when things change.

I know my waffles aren’t for everyone.
But if you’ve avoided vegetables because they taste bleh…
or because of how they were cooked growing up…

Maybe you just need a better version.
A version that feels good to eat.
And helps you feel good in your body.

I’m currently accepting new members into my exclusive Waffle of the Month Club until March 6th.

Somewhere along the way we were taught to whisper the things we enjoy.

“This is my guilty pleasure.”
“I’ll be good tomorrow.”
“I shouldn’t…”

I don’t want that for us.

I don’t want waffles to feel like cheating.

Or nourishing your body to feel like something you have to earn.
Or joy to come with an apology.

Food isn’t a test you pass or fail.

It’s fuel.
It’s connection.
It’s comfort.
It’s part of living.

And honestly?
This isn’t just about food.

It’s about choosing what you love.

Without shrinking it.
Without explaining it.
Without waiting for approval.

You get to love what you love.

If this hit, tell me — what are you done feeling guilty about?
