Yesterday I wrote about why you might not want to take the free hospital birth class.

Listen, I'm just gonna say it. The free hospital class is not going to prepare you well for your birth. Yes, I know it's free. That's a big appeal. And your doctor may have recommended it because they're part of the hospital system and it's easy.
But it's not designed to teach you what you really need. Most hospital classes even spend some of your one class on hospital policy you will "need" to follow rather than making sure you understand informed consent and trying out hands-on comfort measures.
Your birth is crazy important. Like literally change-your-life important. Don't mess around with not being ready for your birth because you didn't want to pay for a good class. Sorry not sorry.
If you want to have an amazing birth you simply cannot let other people make decisions for you. You have to know what your options are and the place to learn that is in a high-quality independent birth class.

Just started my first class series of the new year yesterday! It's always so fun to get to know new couples and hear their vision for their own amazing birth! And in this class I started last night, I just felt so glad that they have found Birth Boot Camp (and me!) because it's exactly the right fit for helping them achieve the dreams I heard from them.

It's not too late to jump into this class for session 2, but if you're due later, join one of my other classes coming up:

I've had a number of people get in touch with me lately looking for a birth class, but not realizing that most instructors are wrapping up classes for the year and won't start a new series until at least January if not later. (My next series starts January 16.) Tricky if you're due early in the year!

So I've scheduled a one-day Express Birth Class for people who want a good education, but don't have time for something longer! Maybe your schedule is just packed or maybe you started looking for a class too late!

This is solid, hands-on info for you and your partner that will equip you both to have an amazing birth.

Ah! I just realized I missed celebrating a significant day recently! I have been with Birth Boot Camp for 5 whole years as of the end of September!
I still love teaching classes as much as (or more!) than I did 5 years ago. What a joy and gift it is to do such meaningful work and come alongside such amazing parents!
