"Ms. Agnew leads the financial strategy and operations for Arizona’s only public teaching hospital and safety net system. As CFO of a healthcare system with a high percentage of uninsured and underinsured patients, she has creatively secured funding and managed resources to support the systemwide mission. She played a pivotal role in a successful bond offering during the pandemic, securing $1.4 billion in buy orders on $245 million available bonds at a low interest rate, significantly benefiting Maricopa County taxpayers. Ms. Agnew also navigated the system through a cyberattack on its payroll system, ensuring employees were paid and creating new pay methodologies to address staffing shortages. Her efforts have also secured substantial grants, including $16 million to expand mental health services, $20 million for recruitment and retention bonuses, and $1.3 million for renovation and improvements at Valleywise Community Health Centers."
