It's clergy appreciation month and ☝️ of the best ways to show appreciation for our leaders and those who serve in ministry is to recognize they are human.

Our leaders hurt, have pain, and feelings just like you do.

God has given me a ministry to love and embrace clergy-men & women of God and help them to heal from some of what they have been through 💕

Will you consider showing your appreciation and love for your clergy by sharing my recent teaching on overcoming idolatry in the family system.

Let's learn ways to defeat the idols in our family and receive freedom from shame.

Join us for our November 22nd Pastoral Wellness session on building healthy altars in the family system.

We offer family therapy at spirit counseling with a twist.

We offer therapy for children under 18 with the requirement for parents/caregivers to also participate in therapy.

We know the family is a SYSTEM. All parts are impacted by 1️⃣ part.

YES, therapy can be valuable for children. However, children live in families and the child in therapy will ultimately return back to the family.

It it is my practice to treat the child separately, parent separately, and then bring both parties together.

This approach allows:

📌Individual opportunity to express and process thoughts and feelings

📌Align with the family system and explore values

📌 Build communication and strategy to determine what IS working and replace patterns that are INEFFECTIVE

Sounds like something you're interested in or want to learn more?

Send me a message! We would love 💕 to support you.

3 Things I've Done with My Social Work Degree that I Never Imagined

1. Become an author
2. Opened a Business
3. Worked in Ministry

Y'all when I came into the social work field my desire was to simply help people.

So much of the stuff I've done was NOT originally "on my list"! I just knew I wanted to help and advocate for people.

As, I've also mentioned before when I started my career, social work WAS NOT a popular field.

What I've learned is to allow God to plant 🪴 his desires within you. He'll take you further than you ever IMAGINED ✨

What are some unexpected things that have happened on your career path that you never imagined, but you now love?

Time. Capacity. Energy.

These are 3 things I needed to know BEFORE my first social work job.

1. Protect your time. There will always be something to do. Someone to talk to and possibly a crisis of the day. Create a schedule and rhythm that has defined start and finish times for the day. Advocate for Flex Time and to set your own schedule.
2. Manage your capacity. Although you may be faced with a range of challenges and people to meet with, you are not equipped (or trained) to handle everything. Pay attention to what you know and what you do not know. Seek and use supervision for support and protection in your clinical growth.
3. Practice good boundaries. Knowledge without application is not wisdom. Knowing you need to guard your schedule and manage your capacity are great. DOING these two things requires implementing boundaries across the board and within your life. Make it a point to practice assertiveness in your personal communication and watch those tools transfer into your professional life!

Our 3 D approach to therapy embraces
the spiritual + counseling and scientific principles +practical (natural) application steps 👣

Here's why:

1. We believe EVERYTHING is spiritual and it manifest naturally. We are a Christian based counseling practice and we are always seeking the Lord to reveal the internal spiritual source of the problem.
We watch + pray 🙏🏾 and use the Father to identify and name the spiritual root of our problems.

2.Scientific- we use scientific counseling skills and tools such as emotional intelligence, mood regulation, and cognitive development to process and work through the problems that bring you into counseling as we also apply biblical principles from the word of God.

3.Practical. We teach you and review the natural practical tools ⚒️ to rebuild and heal such as health my habits to start, ways to implement boundaries, routines, and rhythms.

We are here 💪 to empower, support, and equip you and would LOVE to work with you 💕

To know me is to know that boundaries ARE my LOVE LANGUAGE.

As a therapist, I am committed to caring for and helping people.

I am also committed to taking care of prioritizing my needs. Boundaries are essential in helping me do this.

Here are 3 Boundaries I practice as a therapist that help me:

1. Sticking to my ideal schedule. This means NO Friday appointments 🚫 and NO appointments after 6pm. This helps me to preserve and operate in my PEAK energy zone and in a method that is optimal for me.

2. Knowing every client is NOT for me. It's actually draining to take on everyone who asks for help. It is more important for me to serve effectively and direct people to the right help versus being driven by a need to blindly help. For example, this looks like serving adults 18 + ONLY.

3. Keeping it real with my clients and holding them accountable. I'm honest with myself and clients when therapy appears to be a mismatch or not quite in alignment. I don't keep working with someone who is out of alignment or to simply gain a dollar. 💵

What boundaries do you implement in your family? With your business? Or other areas?

We are here to help YOU and are accepting new clients.

Save this post and share with anyone looking 👀 for a Holy Spirit filled therapist.

We serve many people and here are the top 3 types of people we help 👇

1. People grieving. You've lost a loved one and you're facing a wave 🌊 of emotions. Not just the sadness that is predictable, but anger and maybe even resentment. You feel lonely and uncomfortable in confronting these feelings and need someone to talk to. You are ready to get rid of these feelings and return to your life before your loss.

2. People in transition. You are transitioning into the role of a caregiver for aging parents or someone unexpectedly in your home. You are transitioning into adjusting with your children being gone to college and having an empty home or time with just you and your husband alone. You want to learn how to get a handle on the new circumstances you are experiencing and feel recentered.

3. People feeling overwhelmed by their family. You have trained your children, imparted wisdom, and have the best intentions but the hope and vision you have for them is growing weary. You feel exhausted and drained and need new strategies to love and care for your child while maintaining your peace of mind.

Know someone who fits any of these categories? We would love to help support 💕.

Schedule a free consultation today and lets get started on your healing journey TODAY!

Clinical exam success requires STRATEGY.

Strategy requires SYSTEMS. Systems provide a process for how you will achieve your goals.

Here are 3 systems you need for clinical exam success 👇

1. Content System. What test materials will you study? You need materials that involve a review of all 4 sections of the exam and caters to YOUR learning style so that you can absorb what you are learning.
2. Study System. When will you study? How often, how many days a week will you study? What rhythm or routine works best to fit your life and your schedule that will adequately prepare you for the exam?
3. Accountability System. What will you invest in that will hold you accountable as you prepare for the clinical exam? Will you invest in an exam coach? Will you invest and purchase test prep materials? Will you contact someone to hold you accountable to the designated times you plan to study?

As you prepare for your exam take time to evaluate and invest in each system I have listed and check out our website to assist you in preparing for your clinical exam and further your test prep system!
