On September 2, 2025, the City of Brownsville, TX - Municipal Government Commission recognized Dr. Emilio O. Hernandez for over 46 years of dedicated dental care and more than 40 years of providing free mouth guards to student athletes.

A true Brownsville hero whose lifelong commitment to health and youth safety continues to inspire!

As we end our 44th year of making Customized Mouthguards for our student athletes, I want to thank our Athletic Trainers that help us accomplish this task. I’d also like to highlight all the hard work that they do for their schools that sometimes goes unnoticed. Their job entails long hours from early in the morning through lunch hours, and long into the evenings and nights when there are sports activities. They cover 12-15 sports per school, and some sports have both a boys’ and a girls’ team! I have seen their dedication and professionalism over these many years! Thank you!

Brownsville Chief of Police Marathon is on Sunday December 15, 2024 in Brownsville, TX at TSC ITECC Building. Events include: Half Marathon, Full Marathon, Full Relay (4 Person), Half Relay (2 Person)

Baby Andrew (5 weeks old) and Dr. Alisha are doing fine and Austin, Owen and Connor are excited to have him home with the family. Dr Alisha looks forward to return to the practice later in May. 💙🦷
