Welp; Not every workout is a PR.
Not every workout feels strong.
Today’s workout? Straight trash. 😵💫
But I showed up.
I moved my body.
I didn’t quit on myself.
And honestly? That counts more than the highlight-reel days.
Progress isn’t made by perfect workouts—it’s made by consistency, even when it sucks.
Gold star for effort. This just makes me appreciate the good days that much more 🫠🔥

Nothing spectacular today other than I went for the hilly route again and sped it up a little bit from Monday's run. Unfortunately, I was under dressed and my legs were so cold I cut the run short, but I'm always happy when my pace is faster than the last run. Plus I was still dreaming about my fun AI pic in the snowy mountains and wishing I was there shedding snow instead of here freezing my legs off 🤣.

Stellar arm day in the books 💥
Biceps burning, triceps shaking, confidence soaring.
Showed up. Put in the work. Left stronger than I came. Zero regrets!
Progress doesn’t lie—consistency wins every time. No got get yours 👊🏼

Gosh darn it, that was a super slow run. BUT, I didn't stop! Ran the whole rolling hills 5K route without stopping to catch my breath or walk it out. So, that's something, right?

My body feels extra sore this week for some reason, so the idea of slowing down and stretching was just what I needed. Today's movement was focused on stretching while balancing each side with oppositional moves and breathing through them. It really does feel good to slow down and just breathe sometimes 🧘🏼♀️. Don't forget that; namaste

Working on getting that first mile faster, but also successfully getting slower by the year 🤷🏼♀️. I don't even know what to say going from being a sub 10 min/mile runner to celebrating an almost 12 min/mile, but here I am. Still at it. Not giving up and always chasing goals. Oh, and a beautiful moon!

Happy hump day! Let's smash that core and burn a few calories while we're at it. Loved doing some Pilates inspired moves while adding a slightly heavier weight. Anything to push myself and say "I'm a beast!"

Man do I feel like a badda$$ after today's 💪🏼! I've never used so many of my weights for upper body until this program. There's lots of build up then drop back to get the most out of a short time. You know you can push just a little harder so do it!

Still moving slow here, but that's ok. I got to see the beautiful full Snow Moon this morning. And the hill back home just always gets me. You'd think I'd be broke in by now, but nothing seems to improve my ability to get up that hill any faster. Just stronger, so guess I'll take it 🤷🏼♀️. Let's go get this Monday!

So you know how I feel about leg day 🤬? Well, today I may have just out beasted myself and went way outside my comfort zone just because the trainer told me to. The point of today's workout was to build up in weights by going shorter time with each set. I was killing it with the 50's!! Even lunges, my weakest move ever, I went heavier than ever. Ask me tomorrow how I feel 🤪

It may be slow going, but I'm still able to cover my hilly 5K distance without dying. When the weather is this extreme and the surface is questionable in places (oh and I donated blood this week) I'm ok with this. It just feels so good to be out here and my body is responding so well with faster recovery and amazing sleep scores that I couldn't new more pleased in the moment.

I love mixing functional training with running for better overall success and effectiveness. Today I grabbed just a couple weights for some compound moves to strengthen the glutes and hips while doing a bunch of gentle plyo moves and body weight exercises to really tighten and align the power house. I am ready for anything now 🤣. How are you preparing your body for it's future?

Hi, I am April. The owner of T~n~T Dynamite Fitness. My daughter actually came up with the name for her imaginary restaurant she was dreaming up one day and said I could have a gym attached. She’s so sweet and kind. But really the name T~n~T comes from my kids’ names; Teyla and Trek. Together they really are dynamite (insert happy, scared, and mad emojis here).
I have been into health and fitness from every angle ever since my daughter turned 2 and I realized I wasn’t going to lose the baby weight by just dreaming about it. I had to take action or she would be headed down the same road as me. It started with learning about nutrition for me. I knew nothing about portion control or healthy food swaps. Then came exercise. I grew up all over the world in places you could be active outdoors. My true passion is hiking! I could hike and hike and hike some more......if I still lived in the mountains. But that changed when I moved to the flat midwest for college. When I came to the plains of eastern Nebraska for college I was so out of my element, I didn’t know what to do or where to go to be active outdoors. so, I got fat. It didn’t help I met the love of my life a couple years later and so life happened.
Together my husband and I learned to eat so much better. He taught me some things about running and cycling and things started to click. I felt better, I looked better, and over time I have learned so much more about health from the inside out. The big key to keep in mind though; be ready for constant change. Don’t let yourself get bored or complacent. Keep striving for whatever makes you feel good and happy. Don’t give up, no matter what!
So welcome to my page. I am here to support, encourage, and teach you about health and what it feels like (not always what it looks like). Because we all have things to live for!
