OneBlood was established on January 27, 2012 when three of Florida’s independent, not-for-profit blood centers merged. Together, OneBlood brings more than 100 years of lifesaving experience to the community. OneBlood collects nearly one million units of blood annually, operates more than 90 donor centers and deploys nearly 200 of its signature Big Red Buses throughout its service area for blood drives. This December, OneBlood honors the memory of Isabella, who passed away from cancer at just seven years old. Her spirit and strength continue to inspire countless people throughout the Charlotte community. 💜

To celebrate her legacy and support families facing similar battles, OneBlood is partnering with the The Isabella Santos Foundation to host a special blood drive in her honor. The event will take place at both the Charlotte Donor Center and the Isabella Santos Donor Center.

No matter where you are, you can support childhood cancer patients and pay tribute to Isabella's enduring impact by donating blood.

"I have been donating to whatever city blood drive or bank since before I was 16. Used to be every 8 weeks but now it’s ok every 6. Anyway when I was 9, my niece that at the time was a year older than me and lost her dad (my half brother), her hand, and a little bit of her arm, and I held her in my arms all night. It made me think about life and how fast it runs away. A drunk driver no less took her arm and my bro. God is good and that is all the time.

I have seen lots of good people die and too many younger than me at the time, but if my blood saves one person’s loved one, then it makes all the trips to the blood donation places and buses worth it. Maybe I have to live for now so your loved one will live, so can you give me a hand and drop by the bus or the center at least once a year? I always get a great feeling when I’m emailed that my blood is on its way to another perfect match."
