Rita MacDonald, 75, of Spring Brook Twp. passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, November 5, 2025 at Geisinger Community Medical Center in Scranton. Married on May 19, 1973 to William Allan MacDonald, the couple celebrated their 52nd anniversary this year.

Rita's request was that her family honor her life and legacy privately.

Angelo Joseph Talarico, Jr., 86, of Moscow, passed away on Wednesday, October 29, 2025 at Oak Ridge Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center in Taylor. He was the widower of Joan (Vadovosky) Talarico, who passed away on February 24, 2003. The coupled celebrated 38 years of marriage.

The funeral service will be held on Friday, November 7 at 10:30 am at Brian Arthur Strauch Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, LLC, 3 First St. in Spring Brook Twp. Interment with Rite of Committal and military honors will follow in St. Catherine's Cemetery in Covington Twp.

Viewing will be held on Thursday, November 6 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm, also at the funeral home.

Mary V. Nesbitt, 66, of Lake Ariel, passed away peacefully on October 25, 2025, at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City, surrounded by her loving family.

Family and friends are invited to attend a viewing on Friday, November 7th, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Brian Arthur Strauch Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, LLC, 3 First Street, Spring Brook Township. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, November 8th, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Thomas More Church, 105 Gravity Road, Lake Ariel. Interment with Rite of Committal will follow in All Saints Slovak Cemetery located at 4622-4656 Hamlin Highway (Route 590) Moscow, PA 18444.

Robert A. “Robi/Bob” Wagner of Spring Brook Twp. passed away on his 66th birthday, May 29, 2025, with his wife by his side after a brief fight with cancer. He was the devoted husband of Brenda (Syrylo) Wagner and they enjoyed almost 23 years of a loving marriage.

A celebration of life will be held at a future date.

Barbara Ann Waltman Eyler, 89, of Gouldsboro, passed away surrounded in love on October 9, 2025. Born in Littlestown on June 10, 1936, she was the daughter of Henry and Mildred Waltman. After graduating high school, she went to Washington, D.C., to train to become an RN. Not long after, she met the love of her life, Kenneth Eyler, who swept her off her feet on their first date, which consisted of a moonlit, car-radio dance under a church pavilion. From that moment on, they were inseparable, exchanging vows on June 8, 1957.

Barb was adamant that she did not want family and friends to spend time at a viewing and funeral grieving. She wanted everyone to focus on the love and happiness that was her life when she was here. To honor her wishes, there will be no services. Instead, tell a friend or loved one a story of how she touched your life, sip a hot cup of tea, or breathe in a beautiful fall day. Trevor Paul Schirra, 32, of Dickson City, formerly of Roaring Brook Township, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, September 13, 2025.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, September 22 at 10:00 am in Saint Ann Basilica, 1250 St. Ann Street in Scranton. Interment with Rite of Committal will follow in Holy Ghost Cemetery in Blakely. Trevor's family kindly requests that all those who are attending the Mass proceed directly to the church Monday morning.

24. Never forget.

15 years has come and gone.
Some ran into to help, others ran out to escape.
The heroes wore badges, bunker gear & some, just their everyday clothes. Their attire didn't matter, their actions spoke for them.
Some weren't wearing a uniform, they just went to work on a "normal" day, not knowing what would happen that day.
15 years later, WE STILL REMEMBER.
