Our recent outing to go rock climbing offered clients a new way to connect with recovery through movement, focus, and mindful challenge. Each hold while climbing demands presence, patience, and courage, echoing the same skills used to rebuild life in sobriety. Recovery takes practice, and this climb became one more opportunity to strengthen both body and mind.

Healing can take many forms—and sometimes, it begins with something as simple as a cup of tea.

The Rose House Tea Bar was created to offer our clients natural, supportive blends designed for everyday wellbeing. Whether it’s calming anxiety, promoting rest, or easing pain, each herbal tea was intentionally blended to bring the body and mind back into harmony. We believe in the power of holistic healing—where modern therapies meet the gentle medicine of the earth. This space gives our clients another way to nurture themselves and remind them that healing can be both simple and sacred.

The creator of these teas, Eden, is the owner of Seed & Soma. Eden is a lead tech here at The Rose House who has been with us for a little over 2 years. She is an Ethnobotanist, Yoga Instructor, Auricular Acudetox Technician, and Somatic Practitioner. With a Master’s in Ethnobotany and a Bachelor’s in Psychology, her practice is rooted in science, tradition, and the art of connection. She blends her knowledge of plant medicine and somatic techniques to help others restore regulation and relationship within themselves. Each tea she creates embodies this philosophy, inviting us to slow down, reconnect with the earth, and sip something that heals on every level.

Sometimes, the best therapy doesn’t happen inside four walls — it unfolds beneath open skies.

At The Rose House, our nature walks invite clients to slow down, breathe deeply, and reconnect with the world around them. Each step is a reminder that recovery—like the path beneath our feet—unfolds one moment at a time.

Here, the sunlight through the trees becomes a symbol of hope. The rustle of leaves mirrors the calm that returns when we begin to trust the process. Nature grounds us, softens us, and reminds us: healing is always possible.

Take a moment today to step outside.

Notice the colors, the sounds, and the air on your skin. That’s therapy too.

Radical Acceptance is one of the hardest—but most freeing—skills we can practice in recovery.

It doesn’t mean we approve of painful situations. It means we stop fighting reality, so we can stop suffering and start healing.

Here are 4 simple steps to guide you:
1️⃣ Notice reality as it is.
2️⃣ Name your feelings honestly.
3️⃣ Drop the “shoulds” and “it’s not fair.”
4️⃣ Open your heart to peace.

Acceptance is not giving up—it’s choosing to free yourself from the weight of resistance.

Save this post as a reminder for the days when life feels overwhelming, and share it with someone who might need encouragement today.

Rock bottom isn’t the end—it’s the solid foundation where a new life begins. In recovery, reaching that lowest point often becomes the greatest turning point. It strips away the illusions, the defenses, and the denial, leaving behind only truth and the choice to rise. From that place of pain comes clarity, humility, and the strength to rebuild. Rock bottom teaches us that we’re capable of change, that even in the darkest moments, a spark of hope can ignite a whole new path. It’s not where we stay—it’s where we start.

Nonviolent Communication (NVC) is a compassionate communication method developed by psychologist Marshall Rosenberg. It is designed to enhance empathy, deepen understanding, and resolve conflicts peacefully. At its core, NVC encourages people to communicate with honesty and respect, even in difficult or emotionally charged situations. At The Rose House, clients are immersed in weekly educational programs and daily application of NVC communication.

The Four Key Components of NVC:
1 ~ 🤔 Observation – Objectively describe what you see or hear, without judgment or evaluation.
2 ~🪽Feelings – Express how you feel in response to what you observed.
3 ~ 🌻 Needs – Identify the underlying need, value, or desire connected to your feelings.
4 ~ 🙏🏻 Requests – Make a clear, doable request to others and/or yourself that might meet your needs.

How NVC Can Be Used:
• In Relationships: To improve connection, reduce defensiveness, and create mutual understanding.
• In Peer Support and Recovery: To foster trust, validate lived experiences, and avoid re-traumatizing language.
• In the Workplace: To resolve disagreements, give constructive feedback, and encourage collaboration.
• In Conflict Mediation: To de-escalate tension and help parties hear and meet each other’s needs.
• With Yourself: To practice self-empathy and understand your own emotions and motivations.

NVC transforms conversations from blame and criticism to mutual care and connection. It is not just a technique—it’s a mindset rooted in empathy, authenticity, and non-judgment.
