Traditional ABA clinics often focus on early intervention and insurance-based therapy.
State day habilitation programs can lack individualized clinical oversight and meaningful structure.

Independent Identity was built in the middle — where clinical expertise meets real life.

We combine behavior-analytic support with community integration, vocational development, leisure skills, and purposeful programming designed specifically for adults with autism and IDD.

The service cliff is real — but it doesn’t have to be inevitable.

At Independent Identity, we exist to bridge the gap between adolescence and adulthood. While too many families face uncertainty, limited options, and a lack of long-term planning, we are building something different.

We create meaningful, structured days for adults with autism and IDD.
We provide community-based experiences and skill development.
We partner with families to think beyond “what happens next?” and toward “what’s possible?”

Adulthood should not mean isolation. It should mean growth, purpose, and belonging.

We’re not just talking about the problem — we’re building the solution. 💛✨

Everyone please help us give a warm Independent Identity welcome to our newest RBT, Tori! We're happy to have you on the team.

I am a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) with experience providing Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services to children and five years of experience supporting adults with special needs. I am passionate about helping individuals build skills that promote independence and confidence in their daily lives.

I am currently pursuing my Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a specialization in Applied Behavior Analysis and working toward earning my BCaBA certification. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my two fur babies, who keep life fun and full of energy.

Behind every statistic is a person — a family — waiting for access to dignity, opportunity, and real community. Systems that prioritize isolation over inclusion are systems that need to change.

We believe adults with IDD belong in neighborhoods, workplaces, gyms, libraries, and communities — not on the margins.

Texas can do better. And together, we can push for a future where support means inclusion, not separation.

Independent Identity proudly partners with Austin businesses and nonprofits like Austin Public Library, Planet Fitness, Top Golf, Amy’s Ice Cream, Austin Humane Society, Austin Creative Reuse, The Free Fridge Project, Safe in Austin, and Heartening to create meaningful opportunities for our clients to engage in the world around them.

These outings support health and fitness, volunteering, shopping, dining out, and learning how to safely and confidently navigate the community.

And for individuals who aren’t ready to leave the center yet, we bring the community to them — welcoming local firefighters, barbers, dentists, and other professionals to provide enriching, real-world experiences right on site.

Inclusion looks different for everyone. What matters is that everyone belongs. ✨
