Today was one of those moments I don’t think I’ll ever fully be able to put into words.

Dr. Patrick McGreevy—someone who is not only regarded as one of the most influential figures in the field of applied behavior analysis, but has also deeply shaped how I see this work, our clients, and the vision for Independent Identity—came for a surprise visit to our program.

Not only did he take the time to be here, observe, connect, and have a Diet Coke 😉… but he shook my hand, thanking me. 🤯And all I could think was—you’re the one who shaped so much of this.

At one point he said, “this is home… this is how it all started.” And he was emotional. We all were.

To have someone who’s work has shaped the field of ABA and my career at that level walk into something I built and poured my heart into and feel that… it’s just surreal. Those affirmations made all the struggles and challenges along the way worth while. I am beaming with joy and pride for what I’ve built and the incredible team who makes it happen day in and day out. Truly one of the most meaningful, full-circle moments of my life.

So grateful. 🤍

Behind every person with profound autism is a circle of people showing up every day.

Parents. Siblings. Teachers. Support staff.

Many families provide constant care and supervision for years—often decades.

The love is undeniable.
But love alone cannot replace the need for services, respite, and meaningful support.
