Craving a hot cup of cocoa while watching your favorite holiday movies?

I’ve got a recipe for protein cocoa that I hear is rich, creamy, decadent, and won’t give you an energy crash an hour after drinking it. Can't wait to try it!

It’s perfect for busy women over 40 who are looking to support their health without sacrificing enjoyment during the holiday season!

Peppermint Protein Hot Cocoa
(serves 1)

1 cup (240 ml) unsweetened oat milk
2 Tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
1 scoop (30 g) chocolate or unflavored protein powder
1 tsp ground flaxseed
½ tsp peppermint extract
1–2 tsp maple syrup or honey
Pinch of sea salt
Optional topping: coconut whipped cream + a tiny sprinkle of crushed peppermint candy

How to make it:
Warm milk in a small saucepan until steaming (don’t boil). Whisk in cocoa, protein powder, flax, peppermint, sweetener, and salt until smooth and creamy. Pour into your favorite mug, add toppings if you want, and enjoy!

Nutrition (without toppings):
220 kcal | 28 g protein | 6 g fat | 16 g carbs | 5 g fiber

Want my fallback system for when I’ve had an “off” day?

Sometimes, no matter how much you plan ahead, circumstances can get in the way of your normal routine.

As a busy woman over 40 juggling work, family, and her own wellness goals, it helps to have a BACKUP plan.

Here’s mine: I pour a big glass of water (or two) and tackle some 'busy work' around my home, like laundry, organizing a drawer or decluttering a shelf.

It’s weirdly relaxing… and it also stops me from finding a new show to binge until bedtime.

(Important note: I make sure to stop guzzling water within a couple of hours of bedtime. 😉)

Anyway, this makes all the difference for my sleep, and almost always sets me up for an “on” day tomorrow.

One of my best gifts ever: my neon pink Stanley cup (for mother's day).

It’s hard to miss and reminds me to drink my water. I know they are expensive and there are a lot of cups to choose from.

It might sound small, but it’s made my day-to-day so much better, and honestly, that’s worth every penny.

When Jen first came to me, she had been avoiding "structured exercise" altogether.

Old back injuries and pain made her believe "working out" wasn’t safe anymore.

She told me, “'I’m scared of making it worse.']”

That fear made total sense, because every time she’d tried in the past, she ended up "hurting for days afterward".

So instead of forcing "high-impact or traditional gym workouts", we focused on:
✅ Safe, modified movements that worked with her body"
✅ "Building strength gradually so her joints could keep up"
✅ "Rebuilding her confidence in what her body could do"

Today, she’s "stronger than she’s been in years"

So if you’ve been avoiding strength training because of an old injury or limitation"…
