Just because it’s natural doesn’t make it easy.⁠

Most of the time we are fed a story that it’s “natural and normal” and therefore breastfeeding is easy. ⁠
⁠
Well, in all my years helping nursing mothers and experiencing my own journey I can say that without a doubt that is not the case! ⁠
⁠
Every nursing journey is unique and this should be celebrated. The more we speak about the struggles that we have overcome, the more others can identify with bits and pieces of our story and know they are not alone in this journey of grit, patience, love and determination. ⁠
⁠

Read this if you’re worried about your breastfed baby getting “enough” from your milk & growing “fast enough”:

Do NOT be worried that your breastfed baby isn't gaining enough weight! Babies aren't cookie cutters and growth charts are outdated. 📈🚫

Did you know that it's normal for babies to lose around 10% of their body weight in the early days after birth? (And this can be more if mama was given lots of fluids 💦 during Birth)

Once they stop losing weight, it may take around 2-3 weeks for them to get back up to their birth weight. Completely biologically normal!

So go with your gut and what your baby is communicating with you.

Good signs your baby is getting enough from your breastmilk :
🌟plenty of wet diapers
🌟rhythmically sucks milk and seems content
🌟wakes frequently to feed
🌟feeds every 1-3 hours the first 2 months
🌟sleeps in between feedings

Don't outsource your power, mamas! Trust your instincts and remember that all babies grow differently. ❤️👶

They say a picture is worth 1000 words.... well let me tell you the story behind this one.

When you look at this picture I imagine you see a sweet little baby full of love. When I look at it I see all the lies I was told as a struggling new mama....

❌“ It could be considered failure to thrive”
❌“Just give up and give formula already”
❌“ You won’t be able to nurse well until he reaches 12 pounds. It’s ok if you give up!”
❌“He can’t transfer enough milk you need to supplement “
❌“He should have more range of motion in his neck.”
❌”He is developing a flat spot on his head he will need a helmet”
❌”He should be gaining more weight by now”
❌”You don’t make enough milk!”
❌ “ It’s just acid reflux.”

One of the worst ones was from a lactation consultant at the hospital who said ... “ Do you want to breastfeed or have a healthy baby?”

I thought in my head, "can’t I have both?"

I am so thankful to have leaned into my instincts to discover the root cause of our issues. Thankful for the struggles that propelled me into a new career path. We went on to nurse well into toddlerhood with no further health issues and not a drop of formula needed.

To the mama who is struggling, I see you. You know your baby best and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. You have all the magic inside beautiful mama... let it shine!

What's it like working with me? Join me on a journey with one of my clients! 💕

♥️ She contacted me when her second baby was born for breastfeeding support. I went to her home to do an in-person consult to help with latch issues after an unsuccessful nursing journey with her first child.

♥️ A few months later she needed support for sleep issues and worried she had possible mold in her home. She also came to me with concerns about her older son and his constant sinus issues.

♥️I give her a recommendation to see an airway dentist and she has immediate success.

♥️ She contacts me again -- her younger son is crying every time he gets in the car. We use homeopathy and begin to peel back those layers with various remedies.

♥️ A few months later she gets mastitis after nursing for 18 months. Again, we look to the magic of homeopathy and she is coached through that with ease.

♥️ After making it to the 2-year mark with nursing she is ready to wean. She wants support on how to start and how to get her boys to sleep well in the same room at night on their own.

♥️ A week later we have a powerful session where she comes to me with eye issues. We unlock some stored emotions she was able to identify and begin releasing (while also helps her eye symptoms to resolve).
