Let’s talk about mental rest — something we often forget we need.

You’ve probably heard about getting enough sleep, but what about giving your mind a break during the day?

✅ Step away from screens for a few minutes.
✅ Sit in silence, even for 5 minutes.
✅ Do a “mind dump” by jotting down everything swirling in your head.
✅ Go for a short walk without a podcast or playlist.

These tiny pauses help your brain recharge — so you can feel clearer, calmer, and more present.

Summer is a time of freedom for many children, so going back to school can bring with it negative emotions. But for some children and teenagers it may be more than the blues and it can be a sign that a child is experiencing anxiety or depression. Much evidence shows a temporal link between the school calendar and teen suicides. Suicides plummet during school vacations, and they even plummeted when schools closed for COVID.
