Eating disorders affect people of all ages, genders, and backgrounds — and recovery is possible. This week, we pause to raise awareness, break the stigma, and encourage understanding. 💛
Rosanna De La Rosa, LCMHC, shares insights on recognizing the signs, seeking support, and fostering mental well-being. Every conversation matters, and asking for help is a sign of strength.
When supporting someone with an eating disorder, your words matter. A few gentle reminders:
💛 Avoid comments about weight, appearance, or food choices - even if they are complimentary!
💛 Avoid giving unsolicited advice about diets, exercise, or “fixes.”
💛 Practice saying “I’m here for you,” “How can I support you?” or “You’re not alone.”
