Our Story
I have known since high school that I wanted to be a Physical Therapist, but not in my wildest dreams did I think I wanted to specialize in Women’s Health back then. It wasn’t until I became a mama myself that I realized mamas are an underserved population! As an expecting mom I had so many questions. What exercises were safe? What laboring positions would protect my body along with baby? Do I want to strengthen or relax my pelvic floor before I give birth? And after my son was born I had so many more questions! Why does it feel like everything is falling out? When will I enjoy s*x again? How do I become strong again? And this is just the tip of the iceberg. I couldn’t believe that I had a job as a movement specialist and I had this many questions; so I went searching for answers. I spent my maternity leave taking courses to learn more about how to better care for mamas!
While working with brand new moms at the hospital after their deliveries and trying to fit physical therapy appointments into my own busy schedule, I realized mamas need physical therapists to come to them. I couldn’t help but think that if my son could nap in his own crib or play with his own toys, maybe I could relax and get even more out of my therapy sessions. It wasn’t long before my husband and I went to work on a plan to offer the top notch care that they deserve to mamas in the comfort of their own home.
